Chapter 38 

The following day, Angela received a call from Beatrice. 

“Angie” Beatrice said, “I’ve been invited by an old friend to spend the weekend at a resort. Are you free? Do you want to join me! I heard there’s horseback riding and an amusement park there.” 

Initially, Beatrice wasn’t been on going, but the idea of taking Angela along for some relaxation appealed to her. She thought it might also be an excellent opportunity to invite Kenneth and perhaps mend their strained relationship, 

Angela, surprised, thought for a moment and realized she had no plans for the weekend, so she agreed. 

“Sounds great! Should I pick you up, or shall we meet directly at the resort?” Angela asked. 

Il come to your villa to pick you up.” Beatrice replied. 

After hesitating for a few seconds, Angela said, “Actually, I’m currently staying at the villa in the Northpoint 

Beatrice frowned, “Are you and Kenneth living apart?” 

Thinking about their current situation, Angela wasn’t sure how to explain it to Beatrice and vaguely replied, “Not exactly. This place is closer to my company now, so I’m staying here” 

“Nonsense! How can a married couple live apart! Now that Jennifer is back, what if she tries to seduce him when you’re not around!” 

Angela pressed her lips together and spoke softly. “Please don’t worry about it. We’ll handle it.” 

“If you could really handle it, you wouldn’t be living apart. I’m going to call Kenneth. If he doesn’t bring you back to Vista Villa soon, I won’t forgive 

him!”

Before Angela could finish her words, Beatrice had already hung up 

When Angela tried calling back, it was clear Beatrice was already on the phone with Kenneth. 

Angela sighed helplessly, put her phone aside, and began her morning routine. 

As she was preparing to set off, she noticed several messages from Kenneth.

Eager to mend their relationship, Beatrice quickly said. “Angle, my old friend will sit in the back later. It might be crowded with three of us, so you better sit in the front” 

Reluctantly, Angela moved to the passenger seat 

She thought that if she had known Kenneth was also going, she would have declined Beatrice’s invitation 

Just as she got in, Kenneth suddenly leaned toward her. 

Startled, Angela quickly dodged to the side, suddenly hitting her forehead against the window.

Watching from behind, Beatrice was concerned, sensing that the discord between them was severe. 

Beatrice knew that even when they had conflicts in the past, Angela would never be so cold towards Kenneth

As the receptionist was about to take the ID card, Kenneth snatched it from Angela’s hand.
