The policewoman said honestly. “Mateo claimed he became irritable after drinking too much. He even showed a psychiatric report from overseas and said… that you willingly ate and watched a movie with hi so he assumed you were open to having sex with him.”

Eleanor’s breath caught, and a suffocating pain gripped her chest. “Just because I agreed to dinner and a movie doesn’t mean I consented to anything more! Which rule says that? I’ve rejected him.”
