Eleanor answered, “Pregnancy test. It can be tested in around ten days, right?”

The doctor nodded. “You… yes.”

“Arrange a blood test for me.” After saying that, Eleanor lay back on the bed without saying a word.

The doctor grunted in agreement.

Soon, the nurse came over with tools. After drawing her blood, she told Eleanor the results would soon be out.

Eleanor nodded without saying anything. After lying back on the bed, she touched her abdomen and felt something was slipping away. But she couldn’t keep it.

In less than half an hour, the results were out.

“Miss Brown, you’re not pregnant.” The nurse pointed at the indicator on it and said with certainty.

Eleanor nodded expressionlessly. After the nurse left, she held the report and stared at it. She had been pregnant before, so she knew what the numbers meant.
