Chloe's stomach was growling with hunger. They happened to be near Riverbrook College, so she and Connor decided to hit up the lively food street nearby. The place was buzzing with energy. Both sides of the street were packed with food stalls and barbecue stands, the air thick with smoke and mouth-watering aromas.
Chloe was hit with a wave of nostalgia, reminiscing about her early college days. She and her friend Linda used to frequent this spot, munching on grilled fish and dishing out gossip about the school's hotshots or the latest celebrity crushes. Those were some of the few carefree times in life, she thought. Thinking of Linda brought a twinge of nostalgia.
Out of the blue, Connor grabbed Chloe's hand and wove through the crowd, saying, "Let's be college students for a day." Chloe chuckled, "Do we really look like college students?" With her sleek black dress and perfectly done makeup, she stood in stark contrast to the fresh-faced students around. Connor, in his usual suit, was no different. They definitely stood out, drawing quite a few glances.
Connor led Chloe into a nearby clothing store, and they quickly picked out a couple of outfits. "Let's change first," Connor suggested. He'd chosen matching sweatshirts, one white and one black, each with a cute cartoon design on the front. They headed back to the car to change.
Connor easily swapped his jacket for the sweatshirt. Meanwhile, Chloe was having a hard time with her dress—a lock of her hair got caught on one of the pearl buttons. She fumbled with it for a while but had no luck. Connor, sitting comfortably in the driver's seat, watched her through the rearview mirror with a playful grin.
