Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover novel Chapter 724

Chloe looked puzzled, "It's been ages, and he still hasn't made a move?"

Cassie replied, "Oh, come on, we're like brothers."

A hint of sadness crossed Cassie's face, "Besides, we're practically on the outs right now."

Chloe, ever the curious and caring friend, asked, "Why'd you guys fall out?"

Cassie had plenty to get off her chest. "Let me tell you, Xavier Parker is a complete enigma. His moods swing like a pendulum. One minute, he's showing up at my place in the middle of the night for drinks, and we're having a blast. The next day, he's telling me he can't stand me and that we should cut ties. It's like he's got issues."

Cassie pursed her lips, angrily downing her drink, "If we're cutting ties, then so be it. I've got plenty of friends, I won't miss just one."

Whether it was the booze talking or sheer frustration, Cassie's cheeks flushed red.

Chloe picked up on something, "Do you have feelings for Xavier?"

Cassie's face turned beet red, "What are you talking about? He's like a brother to me."

But Chloe just kept looking at her, a knowing smile playing on her lips.

Cassie felt a chill run down her spine. Eventually, she gave in, deflated like a balloon losing air. "How did you figure it out?"

Chloe chuckled, "You've always been so tough-skinned. I've never seen you blush before..."

Cassie never pretended around Chloe. Chloe was the only one who had always treated her like a girl since they were kids.

Cassie finally admitted, "I can't really say I like him, I don't know what's going on. I just like hanging out with him. When he's around, even if we're not talking, I feel comfortable."
