After leaving the Serenity Cafe, Chloe headed over to the hospital. She had a quick check-up in the gynecology department and got some blood work done. With the report in hand, she walked into the doctor's office.

The doctor glanced at the report and said, “Did you know you’re pregnant?” Chloe nodded slightly. She had a bit of a clue. When she saw the HCG levels in the report, it clicked for her. For a moment, her mind went blank. This was totally unexpected. But since she was kind of prepared for it, she quickly came to terms with the news. Little bursts of joy started bubbling up in her heart. It was a magical feeling.

She hadn’t noticed anything unusual before. But now, knowing she was pregnant, it felt like she could sense a tiny seed sprouting inside her. The doctor looked over the ultrasound, his expression turning serious.

“Based on the size of the embryo, you’re about two weeks along, but your numbers are a bit behind,” he said, his tone serious.

A chill ran through Chloe. “What does that mean?” she asked.

“It means the embryo isn't developing ideally. There’s a chance of a biochemical pregnancy. You might want to prepare yourself mentally,” the doctor explained.
