Connor chimed in, "Diana's over at The Garden. You folks better head over there."
It was 3 AM, and a bunch of cars lined up outside The Garden nightclub. Connor was there too, but not to look for Diana. He was more interested in watching the drama unfold between the Gilbert family and Claire.
Desmond, along with his crew of shady characters, barged in. He wasn't interested in finding Claire just yet. Instead, he followed the address Connor had given him, heading straight for a private room. The door was locked, but that didn't stop Desmond. He had his guys force it open.
Inside, the room was pitch black. Desmond flicked on the light, revealing Diana sprawled on the carpet like a discarded rag doll. Her face was so sunken, she was nearly unrecognizable. Her skin was ghostly pale, and her lips were completely colorless.
Suzanne rushed in as soon as she saw Diana, scooping her up and bursting into tears. "Diana, honey, I found you. I finally found you."
Hearing her mom's voice, Diana barely managed to open her eyes. She looked at Suzanne, struggling to speak. But after going so long without food, her voice was weak and hoarse, barely more than a whisper. "Mom…"
Suzanne was beside herself. "Yes, sweetie, it's mom. I'm here."
"Did he come?" Diana’s voice was barely a whisper, but Suzanne heard it loud and clear. She didn’t know how to respond. Tears trickled down Diana’s face. "He didn’t come… He didn’t come."
