In no time, a tall figure approached her from behind. Suzanne turned and offered him a respectful nod. "Master." The man's rugged features carried a chilling aura.
"Connor's already got his eye on you. When did you lose that pearl earring? You don’t even remember, do you?"
"You've really botched this."
A flicker of panic danced in Suzanne’s eyes. "I messed up, but it’s just an earring. All he has is suspicion. He won’t find any real evidence."
"Your mission’s done here. It's time for you to move on."
Suzanne nodded. "I’ll head to the States soon."
With that, he turned and walked away.
As Suzanne watched him leave, she straightened her posture. Honestly, she had no reason to fear him. Technically, she outranked him. But his aura of wild authority was enough to make anyone hesitant to meet his gaze.
