Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover novel Chapter 912

"I guess, in a strange way, her ending made sense. She went out in a blaze, ending her troubled life on her own terms. I've always thought death isn't the final curtain; maybe it's just the start of something new, like turning the page to another chapter. Life’s struggles are like a baby in the womb, and death is just the doorway to a new existence. She's just moved on to a different realm."

Pax was taken aback by Chloe's insight. The depth of her thoughts on life and death hinted that she had wrestled with these concepts herself. Suddenly, Pax felt a connection with her, a shared understanding.

"And you know, your mom really did love you. Sure, she might have been weighed down by guilt and regret towards Connor in her last days, but she gave you a mother's love all those years. Otherwise, you wouldn't be so full of life and energy, Pax. I wish I could have known the old you."

Chloe stood up and placed a fork in Pax's hand. "Promise me you'll eat something now and get some rest. When the sun comes up tomorrow, we'll move forward, okay?"

Pax was momentarily frozen. Tears fell onto the fork in his hand. But eventually, he nodded and started to eat. Watching him dig in, Chloe finally cracked a relieved smile. "Remember, Pax, when your belly's full, your heart will be, too."

Chloe stayed with Pax for a good while longer, noticing he seemed lighter, more determined. When she finally headed back to her room, she found Connor still absent. She decided to check the study.

Connor was there, having just ended a phone call. He stood by the desk, looking serious, his knuckles white from gripping his phone. Chloe sensed something was off and approached him. "What's going on?"

Connor snapped out of his thoughts. "Suzanne was driving drunk and crashed into a cement truck. She died instantly."
