Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover novel Chapter 916

Chloe set the gift box on Grant's desk with a smile. "These are Isaac's wedding candies. I thought I'd spread a little joy your way."

Grant accepted them with a nod. "Thanks."

Chloe continued, "Well, I'll be heading out now."

Grant chimed in, "How about we grab breakfast together? I haven't had a bite yet."

Chloe shook her head. "I've already eaten, and my morning sickness is awful these days. Even the faintest whiff of cooking makes me queasy."

She really wasn't exaggerating.

Grant's eyes drifted to her slightly rounded belly. Then, out of the blue, he said, "I remember your mentor once advised you it’s okay to date and marry, but having kids wasn’t a good idea."

Back then, Chloe was just a teenager. One day, after checking her pulse, her mentor had casually dropped that bombshell.

Chloe had been utterly baffled by it.

But her mentor was known for his quirky ways.

She didn’t dwell on it much, though it did occasionally make her wonder.

She had always thought of him as a remarkable man. The seriousness with which he'd delivered that advice suggested there might have been more to it.

Now that she was expecting, it was nagging at her.

She wanted to find him and get some clarity.

"Grant, do you have any idea where my mentor might be these days?" Chloe asked.

The last she’d heard, he was somewhere near Paradise Island. But he was elusive and hadn’t shown up then either.

Grant shrugged. "Honestly, no clue."

Chloe pursed her lips. "Why do you think he said I shouldn't have kids?"

Grant's expression darkened, his brow furrowing slightly. "I... I really don't know."

Chloe sighed. "Oh well, maybe he was just rambling."

Chloe left the office, leaving Grant's expression as unreadable as ever.

The following days passed quietly.

Despite some media buzz, Sartori Corporation and DreamMaker weathered it well, thanks to Connor's deft handling.
