He couldn't shake Chloe from his mind, and relying on the Sartori family's charity wasn't something he was keen on. Sadly, he realized his true feelings a little too late.
Connor chimed in, "I've heard about that amusement park project. Sounds solid. From what I gather, it'll be at least a three-year endeavor."
Jeffery sighed, "Well, Luca's in charge of the company now. Let him call the shots."
Despite Lucas being a bit of a mess emotionally, he was diligent and detailed in his work. The Paradise Resort project had proven his capabilities to Jeffery. That's why he had already stepped back and handed the reins over to Lucas.
Chloe didn't have any strong feelings about it. In fact, she thought it was a good thing. Lucas had grown up alongside her. Sure, he could be a bit of a macho and somewhat soft-hearted, but he wasn't a bad guy. Both of them had been overly sheltered by their families. Life's challenges were necessary for growth. Letting him shoulder some responsibility and explore the world seemed like a positive step to Chloe.
However, there was one concern that weighed on her mind. "What about Ethan?" she asked.
Tara had mentioned that Lucas was very attentive to his son now, even driving two hours just to be with him at night. Lucas responded, "My son will come with me. He doesn’t have a mother anymore, and I don’t want him growing up without a father."
Lucas had come to this firm decision just today, after learning that Chloe was pregnant. Suddenly, he felt that Summer's other identity didn’t matter anymore. But to him, it still meant everything. That secret would remain buried with Linda forever.
After dinner, Chloe went to check on Summer. The child had grown noticeably, now able to stand by holding onto a chair and even take a few steps. His bright, clear eyes were like little grapes. Chloe played with him for a while.
