The two of them were left breathless, and if it were not because of Lucas’ self-control, who knew how much further they were willing to go.

Yasmeen didn’t even realize that she was already lying in bed and it must be because Lucas had carried her here. At this moment, she was lying in bed with Lucas, and she felt like everything was too surreal.

She suddenly pinched Lucas hard.

Lucas frowned slightly and said, “What’s wrong with you?”

“I just want to check that I’m not dreaming.”

Yasmeen was grinning ear to ear and her eyes had turned into crescent moons. There was a certain sultry sweetness in her voice too.

Lucas’s lips curled up imperceptibly but he replied, “Shouldn’t you pinch yourself if you want to be sure that you’re not dreaming?”

“It’s painful!”

Lucas put her arms behind his head and stared at the ceiling. His thoughts must be wandering.

Yasmeen didn’t hear any retort from him which made her freeze a little. She turned her head and saw the bloody marks on Lucas’ face, and although the blood had coagulated, she didn’t notice those scars at all because they had been too busy kissing madly.

“Let me call the doctor to tend to your injuries.”

Yasmeen hastily got up but Lucas interjected, “No matter the reason you’re here now, you can never bring this up again from now on, and you should stop thinking about it. You were never here, and you were always with Edison.”

Lucas’ words made Yasmeen felt like tearing up, and she even wanted to reveal the reason she had gone to that place. In the end, she held back from doing that.

“Let me call the doctor.”

“Alright.”

Yasmeen began walking away, but she felt her steps getting heavier.

When she was at the door, Lucas suddenly said, “Yasmeen.”

“What?”

She turned around and saw that Lucas was propping up his chin with a hand, and he was looking at her with dazzling, mischievous eyes, “Be my girlfriend. You can’t be that irresponsible after doing that to me just now. I am a deaf person, and I might get expelled from the military too. It seems like I don’t know my path from now on, so if you abandon me, I will be all alone.”

Yasmeen suddenly felt her heart jolt up.

What was he doing?

Was he trying to pretend to be pitiful to gain her sympathy?

All for her to promise him to be his girlfriend?

He clearly knew that it was what she wanted the most. He was only doing this to make her feel better.

Yasmeen suddenly felt her eyes shrouded in warmth.

“You’re the one who kissed me first!”

“What about me taking responsibility for you, hmm?”

“Get lost!”

Yasmeen cursed at him and ran away after that. However, there was a faint curve at her lips, and the moment her tears dropped, she felt like her heart was exploding in joy. Fireworks were crackling in the air.

It was beautiful, magnificent and with a trace of sweetness.

Lucas was smiling too, and he touched his lips by using his long fingers. That tender, soft sensation almost made him lose control of his desires.

Lucas shook his head and replied, “I should be fine. The doctor examined me and said that it is just side-effects from the concussions. I can recover in seven days at most. Is there any new orders from the military?”
