As Lucas thought about how Yasmeen had chased him anywhere for all these years, he felt bad...
If Zoe had chased a man anywhere for so many years, he would have broken that man's legs.
Thus, Lucas really cared about Yasmeen because he knew that there would never be another woman who would treat him truly in this world.
He had no idea whether it was love or not. He only knew that he was used to her existence, and he couldn't live without her as she was like air and water.
At the end of every mission, he could see her standing there and waving at him as soon as he stepped out of the mission area. That bright smile made him feel that all his hard work and efforts had been worthwhile.
Lucas smiled as he lay on his bed and recalled the years he and Yasmeen had spent together.
She was really annoying when she was a child. He couldn't help but frown and felt uncomfortable whenever he saw her. But why was it different now?
Was it because she climbed the walls at night to look for him? Or was it because she suddenly fainted when she fought with him, then he carried her and ran to the doctor with blood that scared him, but eventually he was told that she was just having her period? Or the way she tore the love letters given by other girls up right in front of him and she threatened to beat up those girls?
Because of her, Lucas didn’t have a single admirer around even though he was now in his twenties. If he didn't grab her immediately, he would probably be single for the rest of his life.
When thinking of the kiss not long ago, he suddenly stretched out his tongue and licked his thin lips. It seemed that her temperature and scent were still on his lips. He couldn't help but feel distracted and even shy.
Demon!
He shook his head, trying to forget those scenes in his mind, but he felt her face becoming clearer. All those sweet, angry, mischievous, and aggrieved looks kept coming into his head.
He quickly sat up and went downstairs to have a glass of water. As he saw a person standing in the living room, he paused for a moment.
He didn't even know someone had entered the house as he was deaf.
"Why are you here?"
He spoke coldly, then poured a glass of cold water and handed it to Michele.
She looked at him and took the glass of water, but she seemed to hesitate.
"What's wrong? You can’t say? Is it because you reported me for erasing Yasmeen’s presence at the kidnapping scene?"
Lucas said in a light-hearted manner, but her hand gripped the water glass tightly. She was somewhat panicked and apprehensive.
"I'm sorry."
"Why did you apologize? You only did what you were supposed to do. It was me who broke the rule."
He took a sip of water, pointed to the sofa on the side, and said, "Let’s sit."
Michele was a bit restrained.
They had grown up together and had spent more time together than they had with their parents.
They trained, went on missions, and participated in competitions together. She had spent almost her entire life with him, but until now she still felt very far away from him.
He was so good to her, and everyone thought they were a couple. Even her had the same thought, but the person he liked was Yasmeen!
She wasn't sure before until she knew that he had deleted the surveillance footage for Yasmeen.
He was a very disciplined person, and he was so strict with himself. Yet he had committed such a foul because of her.
"Why?"
Michele knew she shouldn't ask, but she did anyway.
She felt sad if she didn’t ask about it.

The book is slow....too many words are wasted to explain...need a better translator.......
God I want to read the book but it's freaking annoying, Samuel Green, Nicole Bush, Lucas Bush, Jacob Brown in every line.....I hope this author grows...the book would have been okay but it's affecting my mood...
Does the author have write the full names of the characters all the time...it's annoying...we are reading the book, we know their surnames already.......
What is it with Chinese authors. The characters are slow, he finally opened his mouth, it took him so long just to say two words...the house keeper would have put the person out before he even spoke....is this really how people are over there..the characters are always lost in thought, they might as well live in their heads.....
