Don't Try to Escape, My Wife! novel Chapter 1812

"Lucas, forget it."

Yasmeen grabbed Lucas's arm.

Looking at Yasmeen's worried look, a hint of tenderness crossed Lucas' eyes and he whispered, "I can't just let it go. This is the kidney I found for you, and no one has the right o take it away. Just wait for me to come back."

"I'm coming with you."

Yasmeen was worried and scared. She knew Lucas was capable, but she just couldn't help but worry about him.

If it was before, Lucas would never have refused. But Yasmeen's health was poor now, even though she was trying to hide it.

Lucas stroked her head and whispered, "Listen to me! Just wait here for me to come back."

When he finished, Yasmeen knew what his decision was. A flash of disappointment crossed her eyes.

She hadn't been able to keep up with Lucas, and she wasn't sure if she was considered a burden to Lucas now. But Yasmeen knew that if she had the chance to choose again, she would still make the same choice without hesitation. Because loving him had become a habit for her.

"Okay, you need to be safe. I'll wait for you to come back."

Yasmeen did not continue to plead with him.

Since Lucas didn't think it was appropriate for her to go with him, she would wait here quietly, even if she was anxious and worried a lot.

Lucas knew that Yasmeen was feeling bad, but at this time, he had to be more sensible. Because he knew the risk Yasmeen was taking by going out was one he could not afford to take.

He looked deeply at Yasmeen and then walked away, while Joseph followed him out of the room.

Joseph frowned at Lucas's quick pace and said, "Are you sure you don't want to take her? She's actually in good health."

"I don't want any eventuality for her. I don't need to worry about her safety with the military here, the Bradford family, and her mother and brother protecting her. Brother, where did that man go?"

Lucas walked to the door and glanced back at Joseph.

Joseph pointed in the direction of the side and said, "I couldn't see very well. It was about this direction. Why don't you wait for the guys in the military district to find out before you make a decision?"

"No, Yasmeen's kidney can't wait."

After saying that, Lucas walked straight out in the direction Joseph pointed.

He was in such a hurry that he didn't see a flash of mixed emotions pass through Joseph's eyes before it disappeared in a flash.

The entire military hospital was under martial law as the guys in the military district were also on the trail.

Lucas chased that person out for a long way without seeing any trace.

He couldn't help but pause.

Even if the man was a terrorist and would have many counter-surveillance skills, there couldn't have been no trace at all.

Lucas's brow was furrowed in thought.

On the other hand, Joseph returned to his office. He had just pushed open the door when a dagger was put to his chin.

"It's me."

Joseph's face was unchanged as if the dagger under his chin was made of paper and carried no threat. He stepped forward as if there was no one else present.

That person hastily withdrew the dagger and looked at Joseph with a frown, "Do you want to die? If I don't hold it steady, you'll get your throat slit by me."

"I don’t care. What's the difference between what I'm doing now and being dead?"

Joseph's eyes were deadly silent and depressing.
