Mr. and Mrs. Bush indeed returned, but they were now next to a woman, currying favor with her like slaves.
"Melissa, here! Eat an orange."
Ms. Bush peeled the orange and looked at the woman expectantly. However, the woman said impatiently, "I don't want to eat it. Can you stop forcing me? I'm not a child. Now you want to treat me well. Where were you before?"
Ms. Bush froze for a moment when she heard this and a trace of sadness flashed through her eyes.
Dad Bush couldn't endure anymore and spoke in a low voice, "Melissa Bush, how can you talk to your mother like this?"
"What? I'm kind enough. You lost me when I was little and raised another child. What kind of life is she living now? And look mine compared to hers! All of this should be mine! However, I'm sitting here like an outsider, so how can you let me talk with you peacefully?"
When Nicole heard that, she was no longer excited about her parents' returning. She suddenly recalled why they had left, as well as the photo behind hers. Melissa was exactly the girl in the picture.
Melissa Bush?
Did she become a Bush now?
So, this woman is the biological daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bush?
Nicole couldn't tell what she was thinking now. Standing here at this moment, she was not sure whether she should enter or not. They used to be her intimate parent, but now they were far to her.
Lucas looked up at Nicole. Although Nicole didn't say anything, he could tell that Mommy was in a bad mood.
He took a deep breath and called out with a smile, "Grandpa, Grandma, you are here."
When Mr. and Mrs. Bush heard Lucas’ voice, they hurriedly turned around and saw Nicole held Lucas’ hand, standing at the entrance of the living room. They didn't know how long Nicole and Lucas had been standing there. They couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed.
"Nicole, you are back! Come in and have a seat."
Ms. Bush reacted quickly. She hurriedly put down the orange in her hand and called for Nicole.
Suddenly, Nicole had an illusion that she was not at her home, but at Mr. and Mrs. Bush'.
She smiled and nodded, walking in with Lucas.
Melissa stared at Nicole all the time. When she saw that Nicole was more beautiful than her, she said coldly, "You have done cosmetic surgery, right?"
"Melissa!"
Ms. Bush hurriedly tugged at her sleeve.
Others didn't know why Nicole did plastic surgery, but they did. Now, Melissa obviously wanted to make a fuss over Nicole's face, so Ms. Bush hurriedly stopped her.
Melissa was not happy about it.
"Am I wrong? Why did you pull me! Everyone can tell her face has gotten surgery, okay? Since she did, why couldn't others point it out? You are just partial to her because she was raised by you."
Nicole's heart seemed to be prickled by something, so painful.
"Who are you? Why are you talking to my grandmother like this?"
Lucas questioned Melissa before Nicole opened her mouth to say something.
Melissa did not expect that it was not Nicole but a little kid who rebuked her. She immediately snorted coldly, "Who am I? Ask your grandmother who I am."
For a moment, the entire living room instantly fell silent.
When Mr. and Mrs. Bush left, they didn't tell Nicole what they were going out for and just said that they wanted to travel. Now they came back with their daughter, they didn't know how to explain it to Nicole.
Dad Bush was a little awkward.
"Nicole, her name is Melissa."
Dad Bush introduced after pondering for a long time.
"Okay."
Nicole nodded with a faint smile, her eyes filled with mixed emotions.
Dad Bush suddenly didn't know what to say and looked at Ms. Bush for help.
Ms. Bush cleared her throat and hurriedly poured a glass of water for Nicole.
"Nicole, have some water."
"Alright."
Nicole took a sip of the water like she said and sat on the sofa.
The air froze again.
Melissa felt a little dissatisfied when she saw that her parents had only said her name and talked nothing more.
"What? Why are you afraid of her? Although she is Mrs. Green, without your care, she wouldn't know who she is. Probably she is collecting trash right now. Does it embarrass you guys to tell her my real identity?
"Melissa, right?"
Although Nicole was very uncomfortable with what her adoptive parents' have done, she couldn't let others talk to her adoptive parents like this. She put on a more serious face.

What is it with Chinese authors. The characters are slow, he finally opened his mouth, it took him so long just to say two words...the house keeper would have put the person out before he even spoke....is this really how people are over there..the characters are always lost in thought, they might as well live in their heads.....
