After the dinner, Maximilian asked Connor to have someone to send Nevaeh back to school.
Nevaeh looked at Maximilian fondly, “Maximilian, thank you. Could I treat you a dinner in a few days?”
“Well, okay. Go back and have a good rest. You can call me when you get in trouble like this next time.” Maximilian rubbed Nevaeh’s head.
Nevaeh asked with sweet smile on her face, “Can I call you when I’m free?”
“Of course, you silly girl. Here comes the car. Just go back to school and have a rest.”
Nevaeh looked at Maximilian shyly then she got on the Mercedes-Benz happily.
Connor laughed, “It’s nice to be young. Nevaeh is really good.”
Maximilian looked at Connor, speechless, “It doesn’t matter whether Mitchele is dead or alive, but investigate Jasmine carefully. I want to know where she is.”
“Got it. I’ll arrange someone to investigate it carefully.” Connor said seriously.
Maximilian nodded then waved to Connor, intending to take a walk along the river.
At this time the phone rang, and Maximilian took out the phone.
Seeing that it was Bertie who called him, Maximilian shook his head softly, “Well, I don’t answer it now and let you wait for a while.”
Holding the cellphone casually, Maximilian didn’t answer the phone until the second time it rang.
When Bertie walked to the car and heard the phone was answered, she shouted as she opened the car door, “You wretch, Maximilian. How can you spend so much time answering my call!”
“I didn’t hear it. What do you call me for?” Maximilian raised his head to look at the sky.
“I’d like to give you a scolding! A severe one!” Bertie was so angry that she didn’t notice the approaching danger.
Two young men dressed improperly approached Bertie quickly.
At this time, Bertie focused on scolding Maximilian. She didn’t close the car door, not to speak of noticing someone sneaking up her.
The two men looked at each other then they suddenly sped up.
One of the two men held Bertie, and the other intended to cover her nose and mouth with a towel spayed knockout drops.
Realizing the current situation, Bertie screamed, “Who are you! What are you doing!”
The man with a towel in his hand didn’t say a word and covered Bertie‘s mouth and nose with the towel quickly.
“Hmm-mm!”
Bertie struggled hard, trying to make a sound, then she hit the man in his face and on his head with her cellphone.
The man was hit, then he was furious and punched Bertie in her arm.
Bertie felt such a great pain in her arm that she couldn’t move it.
At the moment, Bertie knew that if she was kidnapped by them, she would be screwed. She hoped that Maximilian would notice something strange on the phone and come to save her.
‘Maximilian, help! If you would not come to save me, you are a bastard.’ Bertie shouted in her mind.
Maximilian realized something wrong on the phone, then he frowned. He never folded his hands and saw others die.
