Sylvia was backed up against the wall, her face ashen, haunted by the memory of Warren's fate in a past life.

Her breath hitched, fingers digging painfully into the wall.

Seconds later, she quietly slipped away.

Sylvia made her way back to the hospital room.

Warren, struggling with the pain of his bruises, found it hard to even turn in bed. Yet, upon seeing Sylvia, he immediately broke into a tender smile.

"Sylvia, I thought you weren't coming back."

"I wouldn't stay away," Sylvia walked over and sat by the bed, her voice soft, "I forgot to ask earlier, how did the car accident happen?"

"There was this special batch of pastries in town, I wanted to bring some back for you to try, just got a bit too rushed is all," Warren offered, avoiding further explanation.

Sylvia sensed something was off, "It was the driver at the wheel, no matter how rushed, he wouldn't gamble with your life..."

Warren's gaze darkened, cutting her off, "Sylvia, let it be. Some things are better left unsaid."

"But there must be something wrong with the accident, right? Can you tell me?"

Sylvia sought the truth.

Warren sighed, "Indeed, a car suddenly cut mine off, but the other party is willing to take responsibility, and I wasn't seriously hurt."

"How can you say it's nothing serious? Does it have to be a tragedy to be serious?" Sylvia protested, her anger rising.

She knew it had to be Rupert!

If he could harm his own daughter, what's stopping him from harming his nephew!

Warren took her hand in an attempt to soothe her, "Sylvia, calm down. It's my fault. If I were as formidable as Rupert, maybe this wouldn't have happened."

Sylvia took a deep breath, massaging her throbbing head, impulsively asking, "What can we do to make you as formidable as Rupert?"

Warren chuckled lightly, "Don't be silly, the Garcia family can only handle one Rupert. Unless I land a major deal, maybe then grandfather might look my way, and I could stay at the core of the Garcia Group."
