Chapter 522 A New Life
I looked at the table full of people–my parents from my past life and my family in this present life.
I felt like I was dreaming. After experiencing so many separations between life and death, all of this felt unreal.
Carter poured me half a glass of wine. “Chloe, let’s raise a toast to celebrate your new life.”
Not a rebirth, but a new life.
My life was truly restarting at this moment.
Philippa raised her glass and said, “My sweet daughter, I wish for all your past hardships to fade away and for the coming year to bring you new blossoms.”
Bill also spoke up, “I hope for you to always be safe and live a smooth and joyful life.”
Zoey smiled and said, “Those who chase the light will eventually shine bright. Chloe, from now on, we must live as radiantly as the sun.”
Kate’s eyes welled up with tears. She couldn’t call me ‘daughter‘ like Philippa did. Instead, she said softly, “I … I wish you a life of peace, health, and freedom from harm.”
For her, the fact that I was alive was already the best she could wish for.
Jeffrey was very emotional, too. Even Luke, who remained silent, raised his glass. “Zoey, I hope you stay happy, healthy, safe and sound. The rest comes second.”
Carter gazed at me affectionately. “Chloe, may we share joy together, year after year, at every moments.”
I raised my glass, feeling my eyes welling up with tears.
Looking at the people here, all past grudges seemed to vanish.
Only after death did we realize that no resentment matters more than being alive.
Being alive, was the best fate for me.
“Thank you, everyone. Happy New Year…”
There was a lot I wanted to say, yet in the end, this was all I could say.
The cold winter was retreating and soon, spring flowers would bloom across the land.
In this new year, everything would get better, wouldn’t it?
After the New Year.
The plans for my wedding with Carter were finally set. From the wedding dress to venue decoration, Carter went above and beyond to make it the best, determined to give me the perfect wedding experience.
I knew he wanted to make up for all the suffering I endured in my past life.
Wisteria deliberately caused trouble, from altering my wedding dress design, venue decoration, even as far Carter wanted to help me heal the trauma.
Just the wedding dress alone had been adjusted dozens of times. He even personally designed our wedding rings.
Watching him revising the design draft over and over, I hugged him from behind and whispered, “As long as I’m marrying you, even if the ring is made of woven grass, I’d still be happy.”
“No, Chloe. You deserve the best of everything in this world.”
“Carl, you’re so good to me.”
Carter put down his design draft, pulled me to his arms, and gazed at me with deep affection.
“How do you feel today? Any better?”
Since I nearly died from blood loss when giving birth to the two kids, my body had been very weak.
The doctor said my health had permanently damaged and there was no way other than slowly recuperating.

The readers' comments on the novel: Even after Her Death (Chloe and Luke)
I take back my compliment and this is another novel I stop reading. Why are there so many chapters missing!!!! If much rather pay to read than read the rubbish on this site...
Finally a good story with mostly uninterrupted reading due to garbled paragraphs, which is evident in most of the other novels I've tried reading and given up on I'm thoroughly enjoying it!...
