Chapter 523 Grandpa Loves Them So Much
I watched the birds building their nests outside the window, with sunlight shining brightly on them. A gentle breeze blew, and the flowers bloomed in full splendor.
Everything was in its best state.
Jeffrey summoned Luke, Carter, and Adam into the study, and they stayed inside for most of the day,
I knew he had prepared for the worst.
I didn’t know what had become of the twins who had distanced themselves from him, but the tragedy of the Bolton family was something she had orchestrated.
She had planned it all because of unrequited love.
She had also dragged the Sanders and the Carlyns into becoming the victims of this tragedy.
For years, Jeffrey had struggled to uphold the Bolton family with no desire to continue living.
I held Everett and Everly in my arms, feeling a deep sadness.
That’s life; as one life fades, another emerges.
The Bolton family had finally gained heirs, but its old pillar was slowly aging.
Perhaps an event would be the final straw to bring it down completely.
And there was nothing I could do.
I could only witness everything as an observer.
Suddenly, the door to the study opened, and the men emerged, their expressions somber.
The butler, Hugo, glanced at me. “Mrs. Chloe, Mr. Bolton requests your presence in the study.”
“Okay.”
I nodded, handed the kids to Carter, and walked into the study.
The old man noticed my heavy steps and gave me a kind smile. “Chloe, you’re here. Come, sit with me.”
When I first arrived at the Bolton Residence in my past life, the old man liked to keep me in the study, sometimes to play chess with him, sometimes to practice calligraphy.
If your heart is at peace, anything can be accomplished.
That’s what he always told me.
Thinking that this might be my last meeting with him, my heart ached even more.
I still remember how he had looked after me in the past. Even when the Sanders abandoned me, he was the only one who looked after me.
Though he had a stern demeanor, he was always so tolerant of me.

The readers' comments on the novel: Even after Her Death (Chloe and Luke)
I take back my compliment and this is another novel I stop reading. Why are there so many chapters missing!!!! If much rather pay to read than read the rubbish on this site...
Finally a good story with mostly uninterrupted reading due to garbled paragraphs, which is evident in most of the other novels I've tried reading and given up on I'm thoroughly enjoying it!...
