" Mr. Raman, what's going on with my father?" Cathy asked eagerly when she sat down.
Mr. Jones smiled lightly. He glanced at Cathy's mother and said," I have talked about the details with Mrs. Lawson just now. What your father got is a kind of serious disease. I would help you to apply for medical parole as possible as I could.
Cathy's mother appreciated continuously," Thank you...Mr. Jones."
Cathy was in a calm state. She frowned and asked," What if the application does not pass? Is there any other solution?"
Her father was aged, he suffered in his mind these time with no comforts and refused to eat or drink. Therefore he got stoke in sudden. He had not wake up yet. The doctor said he was in danger.
"For that..." The man considered for a while then looked at her and said seriously," He was a kind of major criminal offender and he was detained for not long. He had not proved that he was acting well. It's hard to get extra help. Besides, that depends on his recovery. If he can not take care of himself. The medical parole can definitely be applied."
Cathy pressed her lips and stayed in silence for a while.
She wished her father to wake up for sure.
Even though he deserved it, he was her father. She could not let him suffer and do nothing.
Cathy asked Mr.Jones for more information. Mr. Jones promised her that he would try his best to solve the problem. She appreciated a lot and took her mother to her ward.
Cathy had not seen her father for a month. Mr. Lawson got too skinny to even recognize his face. He was like a different man than she knew. His hair was all white and his face were full of wrinkles, hoary and dismal.
Cathy eyes turned pink when she saw her father. She withheld to cry out because she had to take care of her mother's mood.
Mrs. Lawson sobbed too much to speak. She groveled on the side of the bed and watched him carefully.
Cathy's heart was hurt badly. She covered her mouth and turned her head away. She sniffed when the doctor came in and she ask immediately," Doctor, how is my father going?"
"Not well, but, it has to say when he wake up." The doctor said seriously.
"Could he be recovered completely after the operation?" Cathy's expression was heavy and she said with a sobbing voice.
She did not ask his health condition to be very well. Just be able to eat or drink or walk. She could provide him a normal life without any problems after he got out from the jail. However, if he was paralyzed. She did not want to see that, though she could look after him.
"The operation could do well on this recovery. Don't worry too much." The doctor sighed.
"For real?" Cathy's sight turned to bright a little.
The doctor nodded," However, the judicial procedure should be considered. You can prepare now."
"Ok, all right, thanks a lot, doctor." Cathy's delighted voice was a little shaking. She turned her sight to the old man on the bed and a light of hope was ignited again in her eyes.
After the doctor left, Cathy stayed with her mother in the ward. The room was quiet with a depressive atmosphere.
Mrs. Lawson was too tired to cry. She held the hand of Mr. Lawson and fell asleep groveled next to him. Cathy put a coat on her and took a phone call outside.
"Cathy, where are you now? I was just coming back from business trip and I heard about Mr. Lawson.I'm getting there right now."
It was Matt Spenser's voice. His voice was full of worrying.
Cathy lay on the wall. Her clean face was put on a heavy expression. She did not speak for two seconds then said with a soft an calm voice," I'm already here in the hospital, and my mother. My father hasn't waked up yet. You must be tired since you are just coming back from the trip. Don't worry about me. You don't have to come over."
“How could I do that? I'm not tired and the procedures must have change since your father was sick. I could help you to solve some problem, too. Your body was not convenient now. It's going to be worse if you are ill."
"Matt, it's fine for real. I have asked the lawyer to deal with it but have not got any results. I just have to wait my father to wake up now. Nothing else to do. You are going to wait, too if you are here. Go have a rest at home and take care of Mila. I may have something to bother you later."
