Chapter 558 Where Did Things Go Wrong
Jason headed straight to Ray’s office.
Jenny followed behind.
Upon seeing her presence, Ray politely greeted, “Jenny, please have a seat.”
Jenny glanced at Jason involuntarily. Seeing no signs of displeasure from him, she took a seat beside him.
With no time for pleasantries, she immediately spoke up, “Ray, what’s wrong with Jason? You have to help him and tell me if there’s any issue!”
Ray reassured her with a smile and calmly said, “Don’t worry. Let’s have some tea first.”
Saying so, he leisurely boiled some water and prepare the tea for them.
Jason remained silent, not uttering a word.
Jenny felt uneasy but dared not speak further, so she took a sip of her
tea.
After about fifteen minutes, a sudden dizziness had washed over her, spreading from her mind.
She held her forehead in an attempt to relieve it.
However, fatigue rushed over her like a tidal wave, causing her to involuntarily close her eyes.
In just a few minutes, she leaned against the sofa, drifting into a state
of half–conscious.
Jason glanced at her before looking at Ray, with his eyes filled with questions.
Ray opened a drawer, took out the notebook he needed for recording later, and explained, “I burned some soothing incense with a mild hypnotic effect. Jason, you can wait outside for a while. I’ll begin the treatment for Jenny.”
Jason got up immediately and left.
Approximately half an hour later, when Ray opened the door, his tightly furrowed brows were suggesting that he encountered some challenging problem.
Jason stood up and approached, asking, “How is it?”
Ray’s expression turned serious, and he replied in a deep voice, “I’ve discovered something… or rather, a significant problem.”
Jason raised an eyebrow, “What’s the problem?”
Ray explained his findings honestly, “In general hypnotherapy, the essence lies in guiding the person to extract the hidden concerns or thoughts from their deep subconscious. However, when I tried to ask Jenny some questions during the treatment, no progress was made no matter how I guided her.”
Speaking of this, Ray was perplexed.
This was the first time he had encountered such a situation in his professional career!
Jason furrowed his brow and asked. “What do you mean by ‘no progress“?”
Ray explained, “Normally when I was dealing with heavily guarded patients with hypnosis, they will reveal some information under my guidance. However, Jenny didn’t cooperate, she either refused to answer or remained silent. No matter what methods I tried, I couldn’t get her to say a single word…”
Pausing for a moment, Ray continued, “It was as if she was restrained by something deep inside, and this barrier prevented any
breakthroughs during the hypnosis. In short, this phenomenon is highly unusual. I believe her problem isn’t simply a psychological one but rather, it seems like she’s being controlled by something.”
Upon hearing this, Jason felt a stir in his heart.
Being controlled?
A thought emerged in Jason’s mind.
Could it be…
Ray spoke up, “I have a suspicion… I’ve read about similar cases before! There have been patients who were forcibly hypnotized. The psychologists diagnosed it as a psychological problem at the beginning, but later they discovered it was something entirely different!”
He boldly continued, “In other words, Jenny might have encountered a hypnotist who not only hypnotized her but also brainwashed her.”
Jason’s eyes darkened. “Another hypnotist?”
Ray was surprised. “You’re aware of this?”
Jason replied calmly, “A friend of Aletta had experienced a similar situation a few days ago.”
Upon hearing this, Ray slapped his thigh. “So, my suspicion might be
correct! However, if that’s the case, it could be very troublesome.”
He explained. “Firstly, we don’t know the extent of the hypnotist’s abilities or how deep he has hypnotized Jenny. Secondly, I’m not skilled in deciphering a hypnotize.”
Jason nodded and he didn’t push Ray further. He said, “Please confirm if she has indeed been hypnotized by someone… As for the hypnotist, I will have someone to take care of it.”
Ray nodded in agreement. “No problem!”
After the discussion, Jason left, leaving Jenny to Ray.
It was still morning when Jason arrived at the Hill Group.
He finished his meeting and went back to his office.
At noon, before he could go for lunch himself, Aletta had already brought him lunch from home.
“I knew you wouldn’t go for lunch on time if I didn’t come.” Aletta complained, while deftly placing the dishes in front of him.
Jason smiled indulgently. “Didn’t you say you were coming? So, I waited for you.”
Upon hearing his words, Aletta realized and smiled, “Hmm.”
Soon, the two enjoyed a warm lunch together.
When it was about time, Jason picked up Aletta’s phone and said casually, “Let me check the time.”
Aletta didn’t refuse.
Little did she know that it was just an excuse from Jason.
