Chapter 335 Loved to Nag and Pester to Death

Walter clearly hesitated for a moment, his face lit up with joy, he handed me the flowers and asked, “What would you like to eat?”

I pursed my lips, barely holding back as I said, “Anything goes.”

He nodded, his mood noticeably improved.

On the car, I didn’t speak. Walter was always a man of few words, even when overly excited, he spoke little. However, he took the initiative this time and said, “I’ve sent you the time for the vacation to Springbury on your phone.”

Speaking of this, I almost forgot. I checked the time on my phone, nodded, and hummed in agreement.

The car arrived at the destination in no time.

It was a garden restaurant, with a tranquil environment. There were many flowers blooming in the yard, and the sound of trickling water could be heard. It somewhat resembled one’s own small courtyard, giving off a sense of familiarity and softness.

After Walter and I were led by the waiter to a seat by the window, the waiter handed us the menu. I didn’t know how to order, so I passed it to Walter.

He paused for a moment, didn’t say much, and after giving a few instructions to the waiter, the waiter left.

The view outside the window was nice. I propped my chin and stared quietly outside. I liked it this way. Recently, there had been a lot of things going on, it seemed like it had been a long time since I had done

this.

Walter didn’t speak, he just sat quietly by my side. It wasn’t awkward between us, and he didn’t seem bored, just quietly keeping me

company.

If the waiter hadn’t started serving the dishes, I suppose I would have been lost in thought for quite a while.

“The day after tomorrow, River City might see its first snowfall, and the wintersweet near the old house on the back hill is almost in bloom. If you’d like, we can go back together to see it,” came Walter’s voice from the other end.

I took a sip of the sweet soup, paused slightly, instinctively wanted to refuse, but when the words reached my lips, I just said, “Hmm!”

He seemed a bit surprised that I agreed. After a brief moment of astonishment, the corners of his handsome mouth lifted slightly as he said, “Then I’ll pick you up the day after tomorrow when you get off work.”

I didn’t speak up, wondering to myself, how did I agree to him.

He didn’t really press me for an answer, he just served me some food.

This cohabitation seemed to have returned to the first two years of marriage, similar yet different.

The meal was eaten in silence, yet harmoniously. He didn’t bring up anything else, only talking to me about delicious food or beautiful things. If I responded, he would chat with me a bit more.

If I didn’t respond, he would automatically change the topic.

To be honest, this kind of Walter made me feel a bit uncomfortable. He used to be indifferent and cold towards me. Now, it seems that nothing

has changed, but everyone can feel that he is trying to talk to me more.

After finishing the meal, it was already late. He asked, “Do you want to go out for a walk to digest the food?”

I shook my head, looking at him, and said, “There’s still a lot to do every day, so you need to go back early.”

He nodded, his voice gentle and restrained, “Shall I take you home?”

I didn’t refuse, I was about to go to the parking lot with him, when I heard a man’s voice not far away, “Ms. Conner.”

Looking in the direction of the sound. I saw two familiar faces, one tall and one short, Sebastian and Daniel. Daniel was still sitting in at wheelchair, and it was Sebastian who had just called me.

Both of them were attractive, but the age difference made people’s eyes involuntarily fall on Daniel, probably due to the different aura.

Seeing the two, I couldn’t help but smile faintly, greeting them as I watched.

Sebastian pushed Daniel towards us. Daniel glanced at Walter behind me, his face unchanged, but his voice was much colder. He asked me, “Have you had dinner?”

I nodded, looking at him and asked, “Did you also eat around here?”
