Carson was still frowning tightly. He was worried about Grace, but he could not leave Vivian alone at the hospital.
"I'm fine. I'm at Justin's hospital. He'll come and check on me whenever he can. Isn't your mom here, too?" said Vivian.
Carson hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Okay."
In Seefer City, Brian's illness hadn't improved. The only thing worth being happy about was that his headache frequency had decreased a little.
But every time the headache struck, he would still bump into anything hard.
Every time the pain was over, he was exhausted and lay on the bed, panting heavily.
Grace waited for him to stabilize before calling the number that the school had left for her.
There was still no answer. Grace waited for the other end to automatically hang up before putting down the phone.
The weather had cooled down a little in the past two days, and the humidity outside was not as high. The doctor suggested that Grace take Brian out for a walk.
After Brian woke up, Grace took him to the beach.
He was as happy as a child. He ran to the beach to pick up shells and even took off his shoes.
Grace looked at him. The corners of her mouth curled into a smile, and her eyes revealed endless sadness.
The waves swept over from afar. Grace shouted, "Brian! Come back here! Quick!"
Brian acted as if he did not hear anything and continued to focus on picking up the shells.
Grace ran to him, grabbed his hand, and ran toward the beach.
When they reached a safe area, Grace's legs went soft, and she fell.
Brian instinctively pulled her into his arms and fell to the ground.
Grace landed firmly in his arms.
BANG!
Brian hit the back of his head, making a dull sound.
"What were you thinking?" asked Grace.
Grace took his hand and pulled him up to sit on the ground.
Brian tilted his head to look at her side profile. His gaze was gentle as he looked down at the shells in his hand. "Honey, they are for you."
Grace looked at the shells in his palm. She took the most beautiful shell and looked at it in the sun.
She turned her head and smiled at him. "You know what? I could only dream of such a scene before.
"I don't know how many times I've fantasized about doing with you what an ordinary couple would do. I didn't expect it to happen when you were dejected."
Grace laughed self-deprecatingly and lowered her eyes.
He suddenly grabbed her hand with his big hand and placed it on his chest. "Honey, if you want, I'll be with you no whatever what you are up to in the future."
Grace looked at him and smiled. "Okay, deal."
Brian's lips curled into a satisfied smile. Grace was dazzled by his smile, which was so gentle.
