Fated For Lycan's Luna (Chloe and Blake) novel Chapter 128

The night sky stretched above like an abyss, engulfed in an inky darkness with the moon obscured behind a thick veil of clouds. A faint hue of crimson tinged the atmosphere, as if the very heavens were announcing the nature of this dreadful night—a night where untold volumes of blood would stain the earth.

My sprint lasted a mere half-minute before I found myself ambushed from the shadows, enduring two swift slashes from an unseen adversary. Instinctively, my body sprang into action, evading the attacks with uncanny agility.

"One of them" gasped in astonishment upon catching sight of me, a white wolf standing before them. "Why is the legendary white wolf here?" he exclaimed, his surprise evident.

"And why does she bear the scent of those wretched Red Moon Pack bastards?" inquired the other with a wary glance in my direction.

"It cannot be. The alpha of that pack is that despicable Vanessa. It's inconceivable that someone who once kneeled and begged like her could be a white wolf," remarked the third person.

I furrowed my brows, assessing the situation, when Aurora's voice broke through, urgency lacing her words. "We cannot linger here," she warned. "If we don't move quickly, the others will catch up to us."

"I know," I replied, anxiety lacing my voice. "But they're blocking our path. Is there a way to neutralize them without alerting the entire pack?"

Without warning, a familiar white light materialized above my heart, enveloping the bodies of the enemies.

Just as the assailants who attacked me near the concealed entrance vanished upon contact with the radiant glow, these enemies also dissolved into thin air, their expressions a mix of astonishment and fear.

Even I stood there, stunned by the unfolding events, but I had no time to ponder the inexplicable. My limbs propelled me toward an alternative exit from the pack house, my knowledge of its blueprint guiding me. Alas, moments later, I found myself ensnared, surrounded on all sides.

To my dismay, among those encircling me was a familiar face—Dustan, the new alpha of the Blood Fangs Pack, one of the individuals who had tormented me during their visits to the Red Moon Pack.

Though I remained in my wolf form, his widened eyes betrayed recognition.

"White wolf?" he sneered, his voice dripping with icy contempt. "What is this familiar scent..." A realization dawned upon him. "Damn! Are you truly Chloe, that mongrel?" he exclaimed, his voice booming with a malicious laugh.

"What a joke! So the Red Moon Pack has birthed a formidable successor, only to cast her aside and appoint a false alpha in the end."

"Heh! It's quite comical!" Dustan clutched his stomach, relishing in his cruel amusement. His laughter carried an eerie chill, sending shivers down my spine.

"Regrettably, it's all too late," he declared, his gaze fixated on me with ruthless cruelty. "What's the point of your newfound shifting ability, Chloe?" he mocked. "Your territory is under siege. Your pack members are almost all dead..."

"And although you may be the legendary white wolf, possessing immense power, you now appear grievously wounded, barely able to stand."

"Compared to me, you seem as though a mere punch would bring you crashing down... Just as it did when I struck you before!" His words were accompanied by cold laughter, which the others soon joined.

Seconds ticked away, and the number of enemies surrounding us multiplied. I found myself utterly encircled, with no avenue for escape.
