Chapter 194 Shawn Under Siege
Seeing Shawn, Lily bit her lip and looked vulnerable.
"Shawn, I'm sorry. I know you don't want to see me, but I really miss you."
"Lily, I think I've made it very clear to you. From the moment I decided to send you abroad, we have nothing to do with each other."
"No..." Lilian shook her head as she burst out into tears. "How could we have nothing to do with each other? I was your first love. We have been together for so long. I believe that you still like me. Norah is your wife, so you have to take responsibility."
"You're wrong." Shawn's gaze was calm. "The person I love now is Norah, and I'm not being nice to her out of responsibility. I'm very serious about making her happy."
"Lily, let it go. It would be better for you, for me, and Norah."
Lilian covered her chest and felt the pain.
She couldn't believe what Shawn was saying.
Did he not love her anymore?
She was his first love and the love of his life.
How could he suddenly say he didn't love her anymore?
And he had even turned around and fallen in love with the woman who had ruined their relationship.
"Shawn," Lilian looked at him with teary eyes and said, "How could you do this to me? I can live with you not loving me anymore. You can fall in love with anyone, but why did you fall in love with Norah? Have you forgotten that she was the one who ruined our relationship? If it hadn't been for her, we wouldn't have been separated."
"Lilian." Suddenly, Shawn raised his voice.
He shot her a stern look and said, "I won't allow you to slander her."
"How could you be so defensive of her?"
"She had nothing to do with our separation in the first place. We broke up long before Norah and I got married. Have you forgotten that you were the one who broke up with me? How could you say that I don't care and protect you?"
The moment Lilian heard Shawn's words, her face turned red all of a sudden.
"I... I..."
"But I was just being impulsive. Shawn, I never wanted to break up with you. I love you so much, so how could I leave you? I was only throwing tantrums back then. I just wanted you to comfort me. But I didn't expect your grandfather to let you marry someone else as soon as we broke up."
"Shawn, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I'm so sorry. If I knew so much would happen, I would never have broken up with you no matter what."
Lilian cried out loud as she grabbed Shawn's arm. She looked miserable and sad.
Shawn let out a sigh. Then, he reached down and took Lilian's arm as he said, "Lily, that's how the world works. We've already broken up. Why are you still obsessed with me ?"
"I love you so much, so how could I not be obsessed with you? Shawn, please. Even if..."
She cried so hard that her eyes turned red. In a trembling voice, she said, "Even if I don't want anything from you. I don't have to be your wife. Just let me stay with you, okay?"
"No way."
Shawn rejected her without hesitation.
"I'm not going to hurt Norah. And don't make me look down on you."
"I said we shouldn't talk anymore. Let's just pretend we're strangers. It's better for us both."
"Go away!"
After saying it, Shawn was about to close the door.
Lilian bit her lip and was heartwrenching.
Even if she had so many things and even begged him, Shawn was unmoved.
Just as the door was about to close, Lilian suddenly reached out, blocked it, and said, "Fine. I promise you that from now on I won't bother you anymore."
"I know you won't let me stay in the same hotel as you, but it's so late. Will you really let me go back alone?"
"I'll get someone to drive you home."
Shawn reached out and was about to make a phone call.
Shawn asked, "Which way?"
Lilian said she didn't live far from here. They could walk there in ten minutes, so he didn't drive.
"On the right side. Go through the two traffic lights. Turn to the right. We'll be two blocks away."
"Hmm."
Lilian and Shawn had been walking for a while. Suddenly, there was a noisy roar behind them.
Immediately after, motorbikes were speeding past them both, making an ear-splitting and noisy sound.
Since it was a common scene late at night, Shawn didn't put it to heart and assumed it was someone racing in the middle of the night.
However, after a few minutes, he felt that something was off.
His keen alertness immediately gave him a whiff of danger.
"Lily, come here."
Shouting out, Shawn immediately pulled Lilian behind him and hid her.
As expected, the next moment, those motorbikes quickly surrounded them as tightly as if they had planned to do so.
And Shawn and Lilian were surrounded by them.
"Mr. Lawson, it wasn't easy for us to wait for you to come out. If a few of us hadn't been here all night waiting for you, we'd have missed you out." From the crowd, a man with a scarred face came out.
Seeing him, Shawn immediately narrowed his eyes and said, "It's you?"
"How are you feeling? Mr. Lawson, are you surprised?"
"How dare you show up in front of me?"
"Well..." The scar-faced man immediately leaned back and laughed. "I know you are very powerful in the country. You have a lot of bodyguards guarding you wherever you go, so I can't do anything to you. But here it's different. You're all alone, and I have a bunch of people behind me."
"You didn't think I'd come all this way to find you, did you? As the saying goes, it's never too late for revenge. Haven't I finally waited for you here?"
