Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 1577

Chapter 1577

Even though her family wasn't exactly rolling in dough back then, those were still the happiest days of her life.

Now, the man standing in the kitchen had hunched shoulders and white hair. Their home was gone, and there was no going back.

Kya sat on a little stool, popping a cherry tomato into her mouth with her tiny hands, then squinted at Shawn with a smile, saying, "Yummy!"

"I never lie."

Emily couldn't stand to watch any longer. She turned around and went back to her room.

At night, the three of them sat down for dinner. Shawn had made four dishes, and each one was something Emily loved.

He always remembered her preferences.

During the meal, Shawn was constantly teasing Kya, patiently peeling shrimp for her, picking out the fishbones, and then looking up at Emily with a smile, "Kya is just like you when you were little.

You both love fish."

Emily kept her head down and ate without saying a word.

Shawn looked awkward and continued to put fish onto Kya's plate.

In the evening, Emily changed the sheets in the spare room and let Shawn sleep there.

She couldn't sleep all night. She watched over Kya as the pitch-black sky gradually lit up.

After breakfast, Ms. Simmons came over on time. Before leaving for work, Emily instructed her, "My dad is staying here for now. If there's any inconvenience, please bear with us. You can let him handle lunch, just make sure Kya is safe."

Ms. Simmons gave a hearty laugh, "He's Kya's grandpa, why would I mind any inconvenience? He seems like a nice guy. He's polite and he's good to Kya."

Hearing Ms. Simmons Say this, Emily didn't add anything else and said goodbye to Kya before going to work.

Emily lowered her eyes, "This is not appropriate, please don't come to my house anymore."

Charlie took a few steps closer, staring at Emily with a smirk, "Did I not make myself clear the other night, or was the punishment not severe enough?"

Emily felt a sense of oppression from the man's strong aura, making it hard to breathe. She involuntarily took a step back, looking up at him with a somewhat pale face but determined eyes, "The three months are almost over. You should let me go."

"And what are you planning to do once I let you go? Start dating someone else, or go back to Oakdale City?" Charlie's gloomy eyes stared straight at her.

Emily closed her lips tightly, "This has nothing to do with you, Mr.

James!"

The smile in Charlie's eyes was completely gone, replaced by anger, "Last night, Jonathan was at Bright Commercial Center, and Estelle wasn't at your place, right?"

Emily nodded, "Yes, I lied to you. I just didn't want you to come over."
