Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 1983

The air outside was thick with the heat of excitement, yet the bar on the 22nd floor remained a glittering oasis of hedonistic indulgence.

Lambert sat at the bar, having dialed Estelle's number twice without success. At this hour, she wasn't tucked in her room asleep, nor was she sipping cocktails nearby. Where could she have wandered off to?

Suddenly, Lambert realized how little he truly knew about Estelle.

What was her background?

Who was this brother she came to Citadel to find?

He had never felt the need to pry before, but now, an intense curiosity took hold of him.

He was drawn to mysterious women, but with Estelle, it was more than mere attraction—it was worry.

And with it came an unsettling sense of restlessness he couldn't shake.

As he brooded over these thoughts, a curvaceous woman took the seat beside him. She tilted her head slightly, her voice oozing seduction, "Honey, could you buy me a drink?"

Though her body was voluptuous, her face remained youthfully captivating. She batted her deep-set eyes at Lambert with evident interest.

Annoyed and distracted, Lambert offered a half-smile, "Sorry, I'm waiting for someone!"

Rejected, the woman was not easily deterred. She leaned closer to Lambert and brushed her leg against his, "Are you sure you're not waiting for me?"

His expression soured, ready to rebuff her, when a raucous voice called out from behind, "Kitty!"

A burly, half-drunk man staggered over, his expression menacing as he fixed his gaze on Lambert, "You're trying to steal Kitty from me?"

With impatience lacing his voice, Lambert replied, "Not interested, pal. Take your girl and leave!"

Kitty seemed eager to escape the man's company. Instead of leaving, she pressed herself even tighter against Lambert, "I'm over you. Please have the decency to leave us alone!"
