Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 24

Chapter 24

By the time she got back to the villa, it was almost eleven. Estelle took a shower and was cuddling with Max on the couch while calling Magdalen to let her know she was safe.

She also took the opportunity to inquire about her conversation with Morrison and whether they had an

argument.

The phone kept ringing until it was almost about to hang up before someone answered. It was Morrison’s deep voice, “She might not be able to take your call. Any message you want me to pass on?”

Through the phone, Magdalen’s moan could be heard, sounding like she had been crying, “Morrison!”

Estelle quickly hung up.

Her cheeks flushed, she couldn’t help but clench her teeth, thinking how Magdalen couldn’t resist the enemy’s dirty temptation!

The next afternoon, when Estelle returned from the Lamont family’s home, she received a package – a big box filled with the jewelry and clothes that Magdalen had given her the night before.

From the box, she picked out a pair of earrings that didn’t look too flashy, planning to give them to Emily. But when she went to the dessert shop on Monday, the other employees told her Emily had taken leave and wasn’t at work.

On Wednesday afternoon, Estelle got a call from Henson asking her to meet up.

Estelle thought something was wrong and took a taxi to the restaurant where they had agreed to meet. The Lamont family’s car was parked outside the restaurant, with a bodyguard in a suit standing beside it.

Entering the restaurant, she found Henson and asked in a serious tone, “What happened?”

Henson looked relaxed, “Nothing serious, just wanted to treat you to a meal. Relax!”

Estelle looked at him suspiciously.

“Really, what do you want to eat?” Henson pushed the menu toward Estelle.

Estelle put down her bag and leaned back in her chair. “Tell me, what’s going on?”

Henson put both his hands on the table, looking serious, “My uncle doesn’t seem to be satisfied with you and wants to fire you.”

“Oh!” Estelle breathed a sigh of relief, thinking it wasn’t as serious as she thought.

Henson was puzzled this time, “Why aren’t you worried?”

“Worried about what?” Estelle asked in return.
