Chapter 31
Fortunately, Henson arrived and roused Estelle from her slumber, saving them from the awkwardness of being caught by Jonathan.
The trio then headed to the stable to select their horses.
Jonathan and Henson both had their own horses here, so only Estelle needed to pick one temporarily.
Estelle opted for a pony, but Henson couldn’t help but laugh at her choice.
Estelle didn’t mind the ridicule. She loved keeping things under control, and since it was her first time riding a horse, she’d rather choose a pony and be laughed at by Henson than choose a bigger horse, risk falling off and being embarrassed and hurt.
Seeing her determination and not being swayed by others, Jonathan showed rare appreciation.
The pony was very obedient, and with a professional horse trainer’s guidance, Estelle was able to ride it steadily and control it.
Jonathan and Henson waited on horseback for her. When she became more skillful, they rode together.
The three rode horses along a leisurely path, with tall cypress trees on both sides, and cherry blossoms. planted underneath.
In the midst of late spring, a gentle breeze carried a shower of petals through the air. Unburdened by worries, the flowers lightly brushed against their faces as they rode, causing a slight itch but filling them with a sense of relaxation and exhilaration.
Jonathan rode ahead and heard Estelle and Henson chatting and laughing behind him. Henson laughed out loud exaggeratedly.
He turned his head and saw Estelle in a white shirt and black suspenders, her hair tied high, the sunlight dancing on her delicate features, Her expression was different from her usual modest demeanor, carefree and
radiant.
Jonathan couldn’t help but think that this was the real Estelle.
After more than ten minutes of riding, they turned into an asphalt road that led to a villa.
The villa was in a British style, with a semi-wooden structure, a triangular roof, an exquisite chimney, and symmetrical floor-to-ceiling windows on both sides of the wooden door.
A small crystal-clear river flowed in front of the villa, and the flower-lined path seemed straight out of a fairy
tale world.
The servant knew Jonathan was coming, and set up- the grill, prepared Henson’s fishing gear, buckets, and a
sunshade…
A car drove over, and Jonathan looked at it, saying to Henson, “You and your tutor go fishing. I have to talk some business. After that, we’ll eat the fish you caught.”
Estelle smiled, “I’ll take care of Henson.”
