Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 318

Chapter 318

After Charlie left the Royal Mansion, he called Jonathan, “Where are you? Wanna go to Midnight Bar?”

Jonathan said, “Nah, not today. Staying home with my dad.”

Charlie was somewhat surprised, “You’re at home? That’s rare!”

Jonathan ignored his sarcasm, “I’m hanging up!”

Putting down his phone, Jonathan went back to the study to continue playing chess with Geoffrey

Lamont.

Geoffrey went to bed early every day. At nine o’clock, Jonathan returned to his room, stood on the balcony, and wanted to smoke a cigarette. But when he took it out, he didn’t feel like it.

The cigarette spun around his fingers, and he slowly texted, “Is your grandpa doing better?”

Estelle had just assisted Xavier in washing his face with hot water when her phone illuminated on the table. Assuming it was Henson inviting her to join a game, she didn’t immediately check it, waiting until Xavier had finished washing his face and gotten some water. To her astonishment, it was Jonathan who had messaged her.

-He’s much better.

-When will you be back?

-Still need to wait a couple of days.

-Alright, let me know before you come back.

-Okay

The two rarely chatted on their phones. After a few polite exchanges, they stared at their phone screens, not knowing what else to say.

Jonathan waited for a long time before putting down his phone, putting the unlit cigarette in the ashtray, and enjoying the night with a gentle look.

Charlie went to the Midnight Bar and found out that Estelle had taken leave to go back to C City. He couldn’t help but laugh. No wonder.

The next day, Emily’s mother Gina received a strange call, “Hello, are you Emily’s mother?”

Gina quickly replied, “Yes, who are you?”

“I’m a friend of Emily. She helped me a lot. I want to thank her, but she won’t accept it, so I found you to give you the money to pass on to her.”

Gina politely said, “Well, Emily has always been kind-hearted. Helping friends is natural, don’t be so formal!”

The man insisted, “I must show my gratitude. I’ll transfer the money to you, and maybe you could pass it on to Emily.”

Gina thought about Emily’s current tough housing situation and said, “Well then, I’ll thank you on behalf of Emily!”

“It’s me who should thank her. I heard Emily say that you just sold your old house, so when you transfer the money to her, just say it’s from the sale of the house. Don’t mention me, otherwise, I’m afraid she won’t accept it.”

Seeing how considerate the man was, Gina couldn’t help but ask, “What’s your name? What kind of friend are you to Emily?”

“Just an ordinary friend.”

Seeing that he didn’t want to say more, Gina didn’t ask any further and just gave him her bank. account number.

After ending the call, Gina couldn’t help but wonder if it was some kind of scam. However, she reasoned that since the other party only obtained her account number and wanted to transfer money to her, it seemed unlikely they could take money from her account.
