Chapter 382
Yvonne was about to agree when Jonathan suddenly spoke up, “Who even groups up like this? It’s not professional at all.”
As he said this, he randomly grabbed two spades and two hearts from the deck of cards, placing
them face down on the table. “Each person picks one card, and those who pick the same color will be on the same team.”
Magdalen grinned mischievously, “Then I’ll pick first!”
She drew a card from the four options, took a peek, and kept it to herself.
“Ms. Macclain, your turn!” Yvonne looked at Estelle.
Estelle nodded and picked a card from the remaining three.
With only two cards left, Jonathan picked one up and said to Yvonne, “We don’t need to pick anymore, one card each will do.”
He kept one for himself and handed the other one to Yvonne.
The four of them flipped over their cards. Magdalen had the 5 of Spades, Yvonne had the Jack of Spades, and Estelle and Jonathan both had a Heart in their hands.
As Estelle raised her head, Jonathan looked over. Their eyes met, but Estelle quickly looked away and put down the 9 of Hearts in her hand.
Josiah was somewhat surprised. He originally wanted Jonathan and Yvonne to be in the same team, but now it was Estelle.
Yvonne hid her disappointment and still smiled, “Ms. Sampson, looking forward to working together!”
Magdalen’s eyes sparkled, “It’s my pleasure to be on the same team as my idol!”
They rearranged their seats. Jonathan and Estelle were a team, sitting across from each other, with Magdalen and Yvonne sat facing each other..
Josiah explained the game rules. Two people in a team were the house and the player, playing cards in the same suit with higher cards taking lower ones, and trump cards could take non-trump cards.
The players’ goal was to earn points. 5 was worth 5 points, 10 was worth 10 points, and K was worth 15 points. If the players could get 80 points, they won, and they became the house in the next round.
If they didn’t get enough points, they could still win by playing all their cards before the house.
After Josiah finished explaining the rules, they began to draw cards, with Josiah sitting behind Yvonne as her advisor.
They held all fifty cards in their hands, and the first round was Yvonne and Magdalen as the house. Yvonne was quite lucky, holding a Little Joker and several trump cards.
In the first round, Yvonne played a 4 of Spades. As Estelle looked at her cards, she saw Jonathan watching her. Without giving anything away, she laid down the 10 of Spades. Magdalen then put down the Jack of Spades, and Jonathan played the King of Spades.

Yvonne only had the Queen of Spades left, which meant Jonathan had taken 25 points.
Having gained 25 points in the first round, everyone gasped in surprise. Magdalen complained, “Joshy, aren’t you supposed to be our advisor? What were those cards you played?”
Josiah heard someone call him Joshy for the first time. He was a little annoyed but helpless.
Yvonne quickly said, “It has nothing to do with Josiah. I played the wrong card”
Both Estelle and Jonathan kept silent. As Jonathan played, Yvonne became more excited, knowing she could use the trump cards to suppress his.
Under Josiah’s command, she played a 5 of Hearts.
Estelle played a 6 of Clubs, and Magdalen played an 8 of Diamonds.
