Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 620

Chapter 620

Jonathan closed his eyes for a moment and said, “We’ve known each other since we were kids, and she used to come to my house all the time. My mom joked around about her becoming my wife, so I sort of believed we’d end up together. But we never made it official. Later, my dad tried to set me up with the Macclain family’s daughter, which I was totally against. So when Yvonne graduated from college, I proposed to her. At that time, I thought if I married Yvonne, my dad wouldn’t force me to marry the Macclain family’s daughter anymore! But she rejected me! Of course, I can’t blame her, I was pretty impulsive back then.”

Estelle’s eyes widened in understanding. So that’s what happened! He proposed to Yvonne because he didn’t want to marry the girl from the Macclain family, not because he was angry with Yvonne for rejecting him. It doesn’t sound like much of a difference, but there’s actually a huge gap between the two situations. Estelle felt a bit more relieved.

Estelle kept quiet, and Jonathan nervously pinched her chin, forcing her to look up. “That proposal… it was really just an impulsive move, and it’s all in the past.”

He even felt grateful that Yvonne had rejected him, because otherwise, he might have missed out on meeting Estelle, the one who truly made his heart race.

Estelle held his hand and nodded. “Yeah, I believe you.”

Jonathan cupped her face and leaned in for a kiss.

Estelle glanced at Millard, who was diligently driving and not paying attention to their conversation. She felt a bit awkward and tried to push Jonathan away, but his phone rang on the side. She took the opportunity to step back. “You have a call!”

Jonathan still held her face, his voice low and deep. “Ella!”

Estelle removed his hand. “Hurry up and answer your phone!”

Jonathan took a deep breath, picked up the phone and saw it was Yvonne calling. He answered and Yvonne’s gentle voice came through. *Jonathan, are you off work?”

“I’m picking up Estelle, we’re on our way home.” Not hiding anything anymore, Jonathan openly stated his relationship with Estelle.
