Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3380

Alcott Lamont adjusted his glasses, guilt lacing his refined voice. "As her father, I completely failed to notice what was going on in her heart."

Jonathan replied, "Estelle knew about it, but she assumed things between Norah and Gonzalez had fizzled out permanently, so she didn't mention it to you."

Geoffrey read between the lines of Jonathan's explanation and remained silently thoughtful.

Catherine Lamont let out an exasperated chuckle. "Aren't they ten years apart?"

"Less than ten," Simon Hanson quickly interjected.

A knock on the door drew everyone's attention as Gonzalez stepped into the room. His gaze flicked briefly to his father before settling on Geoffrey and Catherine. "I apologize, Mr. and Mrs. Lamont. I should have come to pay my respects and clarify my intentions with Norah much sooner."

Geoffrey offered a faint smile. "You certainly have some explaining to do. How exactly did you manage to run off with my granddaughter?"

Gonzalez felt a flash of awkwardness but held his ground, his tone unyielding. "I am completely serious about Norah."

"She didn't force you into this, did she?" Geoffrey pressed.

Gonzalez blinked in surprise, but the underlying warmth in Geoffrey's question instantly melted away his anxiety.

Geoffrey's brows furrowed as he raised the elephant in the room. "If the two of you are together, how are we supposed to handle the family dynamics? You run in Jonathan's circle."

Gonzalez answered without hesitation. "I am fully willing to step down a generation in my social standing with the Lamonts. But as for my relationship with my own father, nothing will change."

Geoffrey looked at Simon. "Are you comfortable with that?"

Simon beamed. "Gonzalez broke the social rules because he genuinely loves Norah. If he didn't, I wouldn't be sitting here today."

Geoffrey turned to Jonathan and Alcott. "What do the rest of you think?"

He studied the striking, resolute man standing before him, remaining silent for a long moment before letting out a quiet laugh. "We don't believe in heavy-handed interference when it comes to the marriages of our children. As long as Alcott and Janice approve, I have no objections."

Simon's face lit up. With Geoffrey's blessing secured, the rest was merely a formality.
