Seeing her insistence, Beryl couldn't help but interrupt her, saying, "Really, it's not necessary. I mean it. We can manage things at the hospital. Once my dad's health improves, I'll invite you to come to my home."
Eunice saw how firmly she declined and didn't want to force her, so she reluctantly gave up, "All right then."
In fact, she didn't really want to visit her father. She just wanted to see what kind of people Beryl surrounded herself with.
Her family came from out of town for surgery, and she usually worked hard, holding two or three part-time jobs a day. She probably couldn't afford the medical expenses, so who knew...
Eunice's mind started to wander, imagining numerous scenarios and possibilities.
She considered herself to be one of the most beautiful girls at school, so she was sure she couldn't be surpassed by someone like Beryl with her innocent looks. However, getting to know some wealthy people through her could be a good idea.
Beryl was completely unaware of her intentions and found it a bit abrupt and surprising.
Before long, the professor entered the classroom, and the previously noisy room suddenly became quiet, allowing Beryl to finally concentrate on the lecture.
She returned the notes to the classmate in front of her and listened to the lecture with undivided attention, not noticing Eunice's occasional glances toward her.
At 4:30 in the afternoon, the two back-to-back classes ended, and Beryl was fully immersed in her studies. When she looked up, her head felt a bit dizzy.
She packed her notebook and pen into her bag, ready to leave. Suddenly, her phone vibrated twice.
Looking at the screen, it was a message from Marcellus.
Beryl was about to reply, but before she could even type, a head suddenly appeared next to her.
"Who is it? Your boyfriend?"
Beryl didn't have time to dodge, and Eunice had already seen the content of the conversation. It was clearly a message from a man to her: "I've arrived at the school, in the middle of the west side of the small path."
