Finding Love in the Boss’s Embrace After Divorce novel Chapter 291

Chapter 291 Love Rivals Join Forces

“Evelyn is young, so say it properly if you have something to say. Stop picking on her for no reason. She can’t even argue back against you.””

Huston’s lips twitched, and his expression wasn’t relaxed at all. “There’s been too much involvement in the north of the city recently. Let’s talk about it after these few days.”

Matt sighed silently. “All right.”

“Let’s go.” Huston took the two documents on the table and stood up. Suddenly, he thought of something and stopped in his tracks. “Pay attention to your own boundaries when it comes to Grace’s matters. Don’t go too far.”

Matt was stunned for a moment. When he came to his senses, Huston had already left the office. Looking at his strong back, Matt shook his head helplessly. Huston cared so much about what Evelyn said. Why did he put on airs just now?

On the other side, after Maura lost her last backer, the police

soon came to find her. It was about what she had done to

Huston in Quartz City last time.

This matter could be either minor or major. On the minor side, it was just harassment, but on the major side, it could be seen as abduction or kidnapping, which could lead to a prison sentence. Unfortunately, Huston got involved, and Maura knew she wouldn’t get away with it.

So before the police arrested her, she escaped from her residence in advance. She took nothing valuable but only her ID card, bank card, and some savings. On the way to escape, she felt very uneasy. After thinking for a long time, she found that no one could help her. In a hurry, she remembered the mysterious number she had called before and gritted her teeth to dial it.

The phone rang for a long time before it was picked up. Then,

the woman said in a hoarse voice, “Hello, what’s the matter?”

There was no doubt that she still remembered her.

“Didn’t you say that you could help me? The police are looking for me because of what happened in Quartz City. I’ve already run away and have nowhere to go. Can you help me find a way?” Maura’s stuttering words were full of anxiety and panic.

And at this moment, Mia stood in the master bedroom on the second floor of the villa, looking at the holly bushes in the yard outside the window, braving the cold winter wind. There was not a trace of sympathy, and she even quietly curved her lips.

“If you had told me before the incident, maybe I could have helped you. But now that the police will come to you, there’s no use to ask me for help.”

“Then what should I do? Didn’t you say you wanted me to help you in the future? If I go in this time, I will definitely be sentenced…” When Maura thought of what would happen to her in the future, she couldn’t even continue and sobbed in a low voice.

Mia listened to the sobs and moved her phone away from her ear with a disgusted look. When Maura calmed down a little, she said, “Find a place to hide first. I will contact you in three days.”

“Three days?” Maura was a little dissatisfied with this answer. “Now that science and technology are advanced, everything can be done online. I’m afraid I can’t hide for three days. At

that time, I’ll be caught…”

“If you can’t hide, then there’s no other way. Within three days, I will give you a task. If you do it well, I guarantee you will get what you want.” Mia offered her the first empty promise. She didn’t need fancy words to persuade or manipulate because she knew Maura’s current situation was difficult. Besides agreeing with her, Maura didn’t have a better choice.

Maura gasped and asked suspiciously, “Are you serious?”
