Chapter 294 He Came Back in Time 

As soon as she finished speaking, Evelyn felt as if her body 

had been cut open and a cold wind was blowing in. She 

wanted to block that place, but her body felt as heavy as lead. 

Sir Lloyd had once told her this on the phone. When she heard 

it again, she felt more inferior and painful. 

Evelyn lowered her head, and the two elders sat on the sofa without saying a word. They wanted to wait for her to express her opinion, but before she could speak, the villa’s door was 

opened from the outside. 

A ‘beep’ sound suddenly rang out in the quiet air, and then the password lock was unlocked. The thick, gilded door was pushed open, and a familiar figure appeared at the door. 

Huston was tall. He leaned against the light. The light outside 

the room shone through his body and outlined his rough appearance, but it was unclear. 

Evelyn looked up and saw him walking toward her step by step. It was not until she was pulled into his arms that she came to her senses. “Why, why are you back?” 

Hearing the soft voice in her ear, Huston quickly glanced at 

her face. Seeing that she was fine, he was relieved. “I didn’t see your message in the meeting. I saw it just now and called you, but you didn’t pick it up.” 

At that time, he was attending a public meeting that lasted quite long. During the break, Sam handed him the phone. He checked it and saw a missed call from Evelyn. He thought it 

was rare for her to call him on her initiative. However, his joy 

didn’t last long when he saw the text message that followed – 

Your grandparents are here. 

When he saw these few short words, he was no longer in the 

mood for a meeting. He paused the meeting and sped to the 

villa. 

Evelyn touched her pocket, but the phone was not there. “I put 

the phone in the kitchen. I didn’t hear it.” 

They leaned in to whisper to each other. Their voices were already low and coupled with the fact that the elderly couple 

had some hearing difficulties due to their age, they couldn’t 

hear clearly. All they could see was the two of them getting 

close, making them uncomfortable. They cleared their 

throat as a subtle reminder for the two to be mindful of their 

behavior. 

Looking at the man who stood up after finishing his words, Evelyn felt a mix of emotions in her heart – touched and 

melancholic. She was touched that he would come back, yet 

felt melancholic that she was so overjoyed about such a small 

matter. 

“Huston, have you finished your work?” Madam Lloyd was 

so happy to see Huston back that she stepped forward and almost couldn’t look away. 

Huston looked at the two elders on the sofa and felt a 

headache coming on. “Grandpa, Grandma, why did you suddenly come here? Why didn’t you tell me you were 

coming?”
