Chapter 306 Listen to My Explanation
Evelyn quickly raised her hand to cover her mouth, afraid that she would cry out. Her strength was drained instantly, and she leaned against the wall to barely stand firm.
How could this be…
Hearing the voice, Huston stopped and turned to look at Mia, frowning. “It’s so cold. What are you doing out here?”
“Huston, can you not leave today?” As she spoke, Mia noticed Evelyn, who was hiding in the distance. Maura had informed her just now, and Evelyn had indeed come.
Huston, with his back, turned to Evelyn and didn’t notice anything unusual. Just as he was about to speak, he saw Mia’s body sway, and he quickly reached out to support her, feeling a bit flustered. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m fine. I’ve been feeling a little dizzy recently. It’s nothing serious,” Mia said as she got closer to him. “It’s getting late. Why don’t you stay here tonight?”
Mia’s voice was very low, and Evelyn could barely hear their conversation. From her angle, she could see that their bodies were close, as if they were holding each other.
Huston coming out of the villa, and she saw that woman calling him affectionately. How she longed to escape, to avoid it all, but as she witnessed their embrace, her feet felt as if they were rooted to the spot, unable to move no matter what.
Even though Huston pushed her away and turned to leave, it was not enough to restore her heart to its original state.
She watched as Huston got into the car. When the car lights. turned on, he rolled down the window and waved at that woman patiently.
Evelyn closed her eyes tightly and blinked away all her tears. Then she leaned against the wall and walked to the villa’s gate.
A beam of dazzling car headlights shone upon her, yet Evelyn didn’t notice it, walking directly to the center of the gate.
With a screeching sound, the tires rubbed against the ground, leaving a shallow black mark due to the high speed, as if emitting a faint trace of heat in the cold night.
As Huston brought the car to a stop and was about to see who it was, at that moment, when he lifted his gaze, the pale face streaked with tears intruded into his vision. He froze completely, forgetting to get out of the car, and his pupils trembled slightly with shock.
With tears streaming down her face, Evelyn looked at the man in the car. She wanted to say something, but he was looking at her in panic. His expression explained everything.
Mia trolled over in a hurry. Looking at the situation in front of her, she hid the cunningness in her eyes and looked anxiously at Evelyn as if she was pitying her for standing there alone.
Evelyn shook her head vigorously, unable to control herself, and took a few steps back. The man who had told her to trust him and promised never to do anything to hurt her was now coming out of another woman’s house.
Isn’t he socializing?
