Chapter 329 Bumping into Undressing
“Evelyn, thank you.” He thanked her for taking care of him. tirelessly in the hospital and also for forgiving him without holding any grudges.
He was so serious in saying those words that it made Evelyn feel a little embarrassed. She lowered her head and buried
half of her face in his chest. “I also have my faults. From now on, no matter what happens, let’s be open and honest with each other, okay?”
“Okay.” Huston held her head so that she could hear his
heartbeat. “Trust me, my feelings for you are the least worth doubting. My heart will only beat for you.”
Huston felt like he was beyond redemption. After almost losing her, he now had an overwhelming urge to dig out his heart and present it before her, to show her how much he loved her.
Evelyn shook her head. “I know.”
Love had never been about one-sided efforts. She could feel
that this man truly loved her. He was carefree and confident,
and he wouldn’t invest so much if he didn’t love her
wholeheartedly.
She knew all about it.
Hearing this, Huston gave her a meaningful look. “There’s something you don’t know.”
“What is it?”
“I won’t tell you.”
Evelyn was stunned. Seeing the mysterious look on his face,
she snorted and said, “Fine, whatever.”
However, even though she was putting on an act, she was
extremely curious in her heart. Somehow, she felt that this
matter had something to do with her. After all, someone like
Huston, who did not have much experience in love, was not good at hiding his emotions.
But what could it be?
Evelyn didn’t continue to ask, but she was looking forward to
The car drove smoothly all the way. When they arrived at the Royal Villa, it was almost dinner time. They had been in the
hospital most of the time recently and had not had a good
meal, especially Evelyn. She had been eating very casually for every meal.
When they returned home, Evelyn felt a headache at the
thought of cooking later. However, she did not expect that as soon as she opened the door, she would smell the strong smell
of food.
She looked toward the kitchen, only to hear cooking coming
from inside.
Her heart tightened, and she immediately turned to look for
Huston behind her. “Is there anyone else at home?”
On the other hand, Huston was calm. “Why don’t you go and
take a look?”
Only then did Evelyn calm down. When she passed by the
dining table, she saw four dishes and a soup on it. There
was cilantro lime shrimp, cabbage rolls, beef stew, chicken
stir-fry, and tomato soup. They looked and smelled good. They looked quite light, but the scent that wafted into her nose was
incredibly appetizing.
Evelyn sighed and entered the kitchen. As soon as she walked in, she saw a slightly petite woman wearing an apron standing before the stove. Her black hair had a few strands of white hair scattered throughout, and her figure was
somewhat plump, but her face had a kind and approachable expression.
Seeing her come in, the woman was stunned for a second, but
soon she greeted her with a smile. “You must be Ms. Shelton, right?”
Evelyn almost lost her mind and quickly replied, “Yes. Who are
you?”
“Hasn’t Mr. Lloyd told you yet?” The woman quickly wiped the water on her apron. “I’m the new maid, Sadie Lopez. I’m
fifty-five years old this year.”
The new maid?
Hadn’t Huston said that he didn’t like irrelevant people at
home? Why did he suddenly hire a maid?
