Chapter 416 Take Me to Meet Your Parents as Soon as Possible 

“Are you downstairs?” Evelyn subconsciously stood by the 

window and looked down. Then, she realized that the kitchen 

was not facing the road. 

She suddenly thought of the faint sounds coming from 

the phone earlier. Calculating the time, he must have left 

immediately after answering the call. 

She thought he believed her excuse, but she didn’t expect him 

to come directly and be downstairs. 

Evelyn felt a lump in her throat and didn’t know what to say. 

Feeling her emotions, Huston said lightly, “Come down. I’ll wait for you.” 

After hanging up the phone, Evelyn poured water into the 

thermos bottle and left the kitchen. When she saw that Lucy was still sitting in the living room, she took out the trash bag she had just tidied up and said guiltily, “Mom, I’m going 

downstairs to throw away the garbage and take a walk.”

asked, “Why were you crying on New Year’s Eve?” 

“I didn’t.” Speaking of this, Evelyn was a little embarrassed. 

She pushed his hand away and said, “I’m not crying.” 

Ignoring her stubbornness, Huston continued to ask, “Did your 

family make things difficult for you?” 

“No.” 

“What was it about?” Seeing her continuously evading the 

answer, Huston’s tone grew serious, and he looked at her earnestly. “Evelyn, I’m asking you seriously.”

with him now. 

Huston listened without showing much expression. There was 

no anger or annoyance on his face. He simply felt sorry for Evelyn. If the other person weren’t her aunt, he would have made her pay for it. What a pity. 

“So you should take me to meet your parents as soon as possible. That way, people won’t gossip and speculate.” This 

was the only and best way to resolve these matters.
