Chapter 436 Don’t Even Think
About
Leaving Me
“You want to resign?” Huston’s chest heaved, and his emotions were extremely agitated. “Didn’t I tell you that without my permission, you are not allowed to leave me?”
“You did say it.” Evelyn paused for a moment before responding to him. After speaking, she laughed as if facing a joke. With a sarcastic expression, she looked up at him. “You don’t really think that with just this sentence, you can keep me by your side, do you? You’re mistaken. I was willing to cooperate with you in the past, but unfortunately, now I’m no longer willing.”
Even if it required a great price, Evelyn still wanted to leave.
Huston saw the mockery in her eyes, and his heart felt like it was cut deeply. It seemed like all his blood flowed into his organs. He sensed that he was losing, and something was
changing. He couldn’t help but tighten his fists, suppressing
the emotions on the verge of losing control. “Let’s talk.””
He repeated, “Evelyn, let’s talk.”
“Talk about what?” Evelyn looked up, tears welling in her eyes. “Do we talk about how I pushed Mia down? Or do we talk about how she provoked my father’s illness? Or perhaps we should talk about the absurdity of our relationship, the three
of us?”
Huston was silent.
“Huston, stop joking around. I really can’t take it anymore. I was wrong. Everything was my fault, okay? I intruded into your relationship and shouldn’t have been by your side. Every mistake is because of me, so let me leave and put an end to all of this, okay?” Evelyn couldn’t hold back anymore, and tears started streaming down her face. Within moments, her face
was covered in tear stains.
Evelyn sobbed and cried, her voice filled with deep sadness. Huston’s heart tightened as he listened, but he could not forget a single word she had just said.
She wanted to leave.
How could this be?
She had been part of him for a long time. He would no longer be complete if she left. So as long as he was alive, he would
never let her go.
He raised his hand to wipe away the tears on her face. His touch was somewhat forceful, rubbing her skin red, but his tone was gentle. “Evelyn, I promise you anything as long as
don’t leave me. Okay?”
you
Without hesitation, Evelyn said, “No.”
If she had heard this in the past, she would have been touched and at a loss. But now, when she heard it, she felt a chill all over her body and couldn’t help feeling disgusted.
Evelyn was scared this time. She really wanted to end this relationship, at least for now.
Whenever she closed her eyes, she saw Ben fall to the ground. She would see Lucy crying and shouting, see the triumphant look on Mia’s face, and the distrust in Huston’s eyes towards
her.
