Finding Love in the Boss’s Embrace After Divorce novel Chapter 502

Chapter 502 How Did You Know?

Ultimately, Huston took the stack of documents. He had no choice but to accept reality.

Couldn’t they advocate innocence?

Certainly, they could, but it would come at the cost of everything Evelyn had. Half of Evelyn’s life would be ruined if they lost the case. Huston dared not take the risk. If it were himself in the midst of it, perhaps he wouldn’t hesitate like this.

Once a choice was made, things could proceed swiftly. Huston familiarized himself with all the documents in just a day and a half. During this time, he completely disregarded the affairs. of the company and wholeheartedly immersed himself in the lawsuit. This state of desperation he hadn’t experienced since graduating from university.

Due to Huston’s familiarity with the process, everything proceeded smoothly. He participated in every step, leaving no detail, big or small, overlooked, as he was afraid of any unexpected occurrences.

Huston never told Evelyn about this news. However, due to the involvement of numerous parties in the case, the news started spreading like wildfire and eventually reached Bert’s cars.

At that time, he sat in an expensive high-end office building, looking down at the traffic and the bustling crowd. When he

heard the news, he just curled his lips slightly. “I thought he had a good idea. So, this is all he intends to do?”

“Yes, Mr. Harper. But considering Huston’s identity and status, even if the court sentenced Evelyn to prison, she wouldn’t be detained for long. She would soon be released on bail,” the assistant added from behind him.

Bert raised his hand and touched the crystal button on his cuff. He turned his body slightly and said, “She didn’t commit any crime. Why should she admit guilt?”

After that, he seemed to find it ridiculous and said, “I thought I wouldn’t have a chance to go to the police station, but now it seems that I have to go there again.”

The assistant was stunned. ” Mr. Harper, do you mean…”

“Yes,” Bert responded, his smile gradually fading as his expression turned serious. “I will go and talk to the director. Tonight, I will go see her.”

The assistant quickly replied, “Got it, Mr. Harper.”

Bert stared thoughtfully somewhere in the distance. “I’ve stayed

in the country for so long this time. It’s time to go.”

At nine o’clock that night, Bert appeared in the interrogation room where Evelyn was.

The police officer unlocked the door, and Evelyn seemed startled inside. She nervously sat up straight in her chair, her weary eyes gazing towards the doorway.

When she saw Bert’s face, her eyebrows furrowed deeply.

Bert had expected such a reaction.

Bert didn’t mind her resistance at all. He walked straight into the room, leaving the police officer outside the door. He didn’t talk to her frivolously or make any physical contact as before. Instead, he sat properly in the chair opposite her.

“We meet again, Ms. Shelton.” The familiar opening line, the familiar person, entangled Evelyn like a nightmare.

Evelyn’s attitude was not good. She said disdainfully, “It seems you are forgetful, Mr. Harper. You had forgotten what you said two days ago.”
