Sam was playing with Lucas in the small park in front of the restaurant. When he saw Evelyn coming out of the door, he handed Lucas to her. Looking at her red face, Sam had already guessed it. He said jokingly, "Miss Shelton, have a good meal."
Knowing that there was a hidden meaning in his words, she blushed. "Well, thank you. Let's have dinner together when you have time."
"Okay."
She took his hand and walked into the restaurant. When she saw Lucas, she breathed a sigh of relief. However, when she saw the sea of flowers, Lucas didn't calm down. At first, he was amazed by the setting in front of him, but soon he looked up hesitantly and asked, "Mom, are these the flowers that Mr. Lloyd prepared for you?"
She was leading him to the stairs. When she heard this, she couldn't help but stop. She really wanted to say no, but there was no one else present except the three of them. She could only bite the bullet and admit it. "Yes."
"Does Mr. Lloyd like you? Is he confessing his love to you?" Lucas suddenly asked.
She was stunned. "Why do you say that?"
"Because Mr. Harper told me that the roses were for the girl he liked to confess his love." After that, he stretched out a piece of white and short finger and pointed to the stairs covered with petals. "There are so many flowers. It must be a confession."
She couldn't help but feel embarrassed. Bert really told everything to the child.
She pretended to be calm and squatted down to look at Lucas. Seeing the conflicted look in his eyes, she comforted him softly, "Whether Mr. Lloyd confessed his love to me or not doesn't affect my love for you."
But what Lucas said next shocked Evelyn greatly.
He raised his head and scratched his head. His voice was low and a little weak, but his words were firm. "Mom, in fact, I know that Mr. Lloyd is my father. I, I... I think he is a good person. He explained to me why he didn't come to find you and me before. He just didn't know that we were here."
She didn't expect that he would take the initiative to mention this to Lucas. She had always been afraid that the child would get hurt, so she tried her best to cover it up with a good lie. But now it seemed that this was not necessarily a good thing. In the end, she didn't know how to say it.
