Gideon expertly drove the car into an alley.
"You sure is this place?" Lena was surprised as she looked around. There was not a restaurant at all.
Gideon chuckled softly and led Lena further into the alley.
After several twists and turns, the two arrived at a courtyard house.
The gate of the courtyard was very unassuming, with a plaque with the word "Nameless".
As soon as they entered, a handsome chef approached them.
He sized up Gideon and Lena with unclear meaning. "Kiddo, what are you..."
Lena, hearing the man, realized that he must be quite familiar with Gideon and gave him a sidelong glance.
Gideon glared at the man irritably. "Uncle Jeffrey, if you don't go cook now, I'm going to tell Grandma you're starving her granddaughter-in-law."
Jeffrey didn't expect Gideon to reveal Lena's identity so bluntly, and his gaze towards Lena softened a bit.
"Are you hungry? Dinner will be ready quickly." After saying that, he turned and left.
Lena was still processing the fact that the man was Gideon's uncle. She looked at Gideon incredulously. "He's your uncle?"
Was she meeting his family like this?
Gideon soothingly took Lena's hand. "Don't worry. My uncle isn't the talkative type. If you're not ready to meet my family, I'll make sure he doesn't tell anyone..."
Although Gideon sounded gentle, Lena inexplicably detected a hint of grievance in his words.
