When Gideon came out of the City Hall, he was still staring at the license in his hand with disbelief.
Although they had been inside for less than half an hour, he and Lena had already become officially and legally married.
He turned his head to look at Lena, who smiled as bright as sunshine, compelling him to submit to her involuntarily.
"What are you looking at?" Lena asked with a laugh, amused by his unblinking gaze.
Gideon scooped her up in his arms, and Lena, accustomed to his behavior, naturally wrapped her arms around his neck.
It had to be said that thanks to Gideon's unrelenting efforts, Lena had grown used to his frequent embraces.
At that moment, Gideon's phone suddenly rang shrilly.
He glanced at the caller ID and furrowed his brows slightly.
"What's wrong?" Lena asked, sensing his mood change and looking at him inquisitively.
Reluctantly, Gideon showed her the incoming call and said cautiously, "We might need to go see my mother first."
Instinctively, Lena tensed, but Gideon quickly said, "It's okay if you don't want to go. After all, they don't know we are together right now."
Lena glanced at the phone that kept ringing persistently and finally made a decision. "Let's go and see her. After all, we are already married."
It made sense for her to meet his parents, and since Gideon had never mentioned it, she pretended not to know the matter.
Gideon suddenly leaned in to hug her. "Thank you! They are going to love you!"
Lena offered a wry smile and said, "You better answer the call first."
