Gideon followed her gaze and comforted her, saying, "What they truly lack isn't these things, but you as their daughter-in-law."
Lena glanced at him annoyedly and said, "If you had made things clear from the start, maybe I could have prepared better."
But saying this now was meaningless. Lena simply gave up, leaving all the problems for Gideon to handle.
Gideon gladly accepted this. "Just stay behind me. I'll take care of everything. Of course, they will treat you totally differently."
The car stopped in front of a villa, and seeing the exquisite property, Lena let out a slight sigh of relief.
She was glad that Gideon hadn't taken her to some manor. Otherwise, she would have been really nervous.
After parking the car in the garage, Gideon led Lena through the main entrance.
Just then, Jeffrey opened the door and said upon seeing Gideon, "I'm not the one who leaked the information. There's a rightful one to the blame, so don't trouble me about it."
After saying that, Jeffrey's gaze fell on Lena, who was following Gideon, and he smiled, "Oh! So, you brought your lifesaver? It looks like you are safe now."
Gideon glanced at him and continued walking in with Lena.
Just as they entered the hall, a glass was hurled violently, shattering into pieces, accompanied by a furious shout. "You still have the nerve to come back!"
Lena looked in the direction of the voice and saw an elderly man with gray hair sitting on the couch. Next to him sat a middle-aged man and woman with serious expressions, who also looked over with displeasure.
