Charlotte was about to speak when the sound of hurried footsteps came from the garden entrance again.
A middle-aged woman rushed over, scolding the little girl without discrimination, "Telma, how can you run around alone? If you stay in the sun for too long, your condition may relapse! Your father will blame me then!"
Watching the middle-aged woman's attitude toward Telma Faulkner, Charlotte furrowed her brows tightly.
Even if it was her child, scolding her so casually was unacceptable! Moreover, judging by the woman's tone, she seemed to be a staff member responsible for taking care of the child, like a nanny or something.
Charlotte cast a stern glance at the woman, then walked over to the little girl and crouched down, whispering gently, "Is your name Telma? It's a beautiful name! Do you want me to help you find your daddy?"
Only then did the nanny notice an adult standing beside her, and a sheepish smile appeared on her face. "Telma can be a bit naughty. I won't trouble you."
After saying this, she tried to pull Telma away. However, the usually obedient Telma had become stubborn at this moment. She shook off the nanny's hand and ran to Charlotte, carefully placing her hand into Charlotte's.
Charlotte gave her a gentle smile and said, "Let's go."
Perhaps the nanny was worried that Charlotte would complain to Telma's father after seeing him. She immediately changed her expression and asked, "Who are you? Why are you taking Telma away for no reason? I won't allow it!"
Charlotte looked at her coldly and replied, "I already said I'm taking her to find her father. If you're not at ease, you can come with us. As for why I won't let you take her, you should know in your heart."
It was clear that she intended to report this!
The nanny, realizing no one was around, reached out to grab Charlotte, intending to snatch Telma back.
