The boss sneered, "I've seen plenty of men like you who talk a big game, but when it comes to..."
Joe put a check in front of the boss, which happened to be one hundred million dollars.
The boss was stunned for a moment and picked up the phone to confirm the authenticity of the check.
Upon receiving confirmation from the bank, the boss's demeanor changed, and she smiled charmingly. She flicked open the cigar on the table and casually tapped the table, "Speak up. What do you want me to help you with?"
Joe straightforwardly stated, "I want access to the surveillance footage of Room 008."
The boss's smile faded slightly as she casually replied, "You should know that we don't have surveillance here."
Joe confidently asserted, "There might not be surveillance, but I believe you have a way."
The boss silently locked eyes with him for a moment as if she found something amusing, "Well, I'm willing to help you with this favor."
She sent a text message from her phone, and soon, a burly man entered and respectfully bowed to the boss, "Boss, did you call for me?"
"Take them to check the surveillance," the boss waved her hand casually. The burly man hesitated for a moment, then politely said to Joe, "Please follow me."
The group exited the boss's office, and Skylar finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"About your boss..." Skylar began, but the burly man named Dylan looked at her impassively.
"Our boss trusts you," Dylan said seriously. "I've been here for many years, and the boss has seen very few people, let alone taken the initiative to show you the surveillance."
Clearly, that one hundred million dollars had worked.
Skylar silently commented to herself, but she didn't say it out loud.
