Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1052

Holy cow?! We’re really doing this?! Alright then, I guess Connor’s the king of jealousy. Flora felt a mix of amusement and exasperation as she turned over, and Connor’s hand, which had been resting comfortably on her waist, slipped to her stomach.

She eyed him playfully, “Connor, are you trying to tell me something? Like, maybe you want me to whip up some clothes for you?”

Connor just pursed his lips and stayed quiet. That silence spoke volumes.

Flora couldn’t resist teasing him, “But you know, designing clothes is a lot of work, and I’m feeling too lazy for that. Plus, you’ve got your own team of fancy designers.”

“Oh.” Connor’s lips thinned further, and she caught a flicker of disappointment in his eyes. Flora gently grasped his hand on her stomach.

“However—” she paused with a mischievous glint, and as expected, Connor’s attention snapped back to her. Her lips curled into a cheeky smile as she guided his hand upwards, “But if you treat me extra special... I might just consider it.”

Treat her right, huh? How exactly?

Connor’s Adam’s apple bobbed, his dark eyes deepening like ink, carrying a warmth that could pull anyone in...

...

In a run-down apartment, things were getting heated.

“Damn it, why hasn’t Cecelia sent us the money yet?!” Liam ranted, his yellowed teeth spitting out his frustration.

Cecelia had apparently grown a backbone, actually holding back their cash. Hours had passed with no word!

“She’s probably busy. She’ll send it soon... Once she does, we can pay off Bruce. You need to stop gambling. Our son’s got school, and we still owe tuition for this semester...” Peyton said, huddled over, her voice trembling.

Liam smacked her: “Who said you get to lecture me? Looking for trouble, are you?”

Peyton, all too used to the abuse, just looked at him with fear.
