"Incompetent as you all are, you still need Flora to bail you out," Joey said, casting a disapproving glance at the five men tied up before turning to Jacob and Carly, his frustration evident. It was as if he wished he could whack some sense into them with a brick.

They were always slacking off in training and now, embarrassingly, outdone by a girl who'd just dipped her toes into martial arts.

Unable to bring himself to scold Jacob and Carly, Joey vented his frustration by giving the five captives a swift kick. "Daring to attack someone from the Gilbert family? They must have a death wish. Send them straight to the Enforcement Division."

"They were after me," Flora spoke up, acknowledging that her presence had drawn these five to Jacob and Carly.

"Once you're with the Gilbert family, you're one of us. No more 'you' or 'me,'" Joey said with a hearty laugh.

"Exactly. It must be tough coming into this world all alone. Think of the Gilbert family as your home," Mae added warmly, her smile as gentle as her demeanor.

"Flora, tell me this. How did you manage to defeat those five if you don't know martial arts? You must know some, right?" Gerald inquired, his commanding presence felt even without raising his voice.

Everyone's eyes were on Flora, curious for answers.

"I do know a little," Flora admitted honestly.
