Sydney finally laid eyes on Flora and Carly Jacob. Among the trio, Flora immediately caught attention. Dressed simply with no makeup and her hair casually tied up, her fair complexion was strikingly beautiful.
Sydney squinted. To think that such a beautiful girl was in the Martial World and standing with a member of the Gilbert family, she quickly deduced her identity.
"Brother, you go in and get those wounds sorted. I'll take care of things here," Sydney said coolly, gesturing for some folks to help Teddy inside. In too much pain to argue, Teddy went in to get patched up.
Sydney's eyes drifted back to Flora. Standing three steps above, Flora had a proud air, looking down on her.
Flora… Hmph. After causing her uncle's family downfall, she still dared to show up here. Quite gutsy.
"Sydney, quit blocking the door. We’re just here to buy some medicine," Carly said, annoyed.
"Miss Carly, you and Mr. Jacob can go in, no problem. But her—" Sydney gave Flora a look of utter disdain, "—she can’t."
"What gives you the right to say that?" Carly snapped.
"The Apothecary has its rules: only Warriors allowed. Is Flora a Warrior?" Sydney sneered. "Plus, the medicines are for Warriors. What's a regular person doing here? What if she breaks something?"
"You're clearly picking on Flora!"
They’d never heard of such a rule at the Apothecary. Sure, it catered mostly to Warriors, but non-Warriors weren't exactly banned. Sydney was clearly out to get Flora, making up rules as she went!
"I'll repeat, Miss Carly and Mr. Jacob can enter, but Flora—no way!"
